It’s just that this Frank Wilhoit quote is, again, proven to be correct: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” Jail is supposed to be awful and dehumanizing for some people, but it’s not supposed to be that way for conservative White men. They don’t support prison reform at all, they just don’t like consequences for themselves.

Last I read they were letting the clock play out and then they were talking about criminal contempt. Good. Who did the GOP throw in jail for 18 months back in the 1990s? Susan McDougal? And that was over nothing at all.
Susan McDougal was refusing to testify to a federal grand jury, not Congress.
