Is Gilead suppose to come back and attack during this time when Canada is helping rescue post bombing?
Or was the plan give aid trap, bomb, then leave ?
So essentially when June reunited, would this mean she’s going back to Canada or footless Gilead come detain them again?
I think some of the commanders wanted to call a ceasefire and then bomb during the “ceasefire”, but in the end they agreed to bomb aggressively just before the ceasefire.
Presumably an actual ceasefire is now in effect since the aid group is there and they can take her to Canada with them. Fingers crossed for Janine.
And it's only a 24 hour ceasefire. I expect Gilead would bomb the hell out of anyone still out and about seeking aid, as well as any aid workers.

I wish the last episode had less about Janine's boyfriend and more about the Gilead economy. I remember those grocery store scenes looked like they went full communist? Like, if Serena needed a plumber did she call an econoperson with a plumbing business? Or like Central Stolen Mansion Services .gov? Who makes all the uniforms?
I continue to think all the time about where and when everyone goes to the bathroom.

I am going to be so, so pissed if they killed off Janine. So. Damn. Pissed.
I don’t get the new alliance between Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia. How did she have evidence against him, especially in Winslow’s murder? They’re suddenly working for the same thing?
And once again Nick is useless. Get off your ass and go rescue Hannah, you piece of crap traitor.
It seems like every time Cmdr Lawrence seems to be doing the right thing a page turns and he is shown to have ulterior motives or really just doesn’t care. Then another page turns and those ulterior motives weren’t what they seemed. He’s inscrutable.
Yes, he seemed happy about the children getting out, then this. No clue what he really wants to achieve.

The high-ranking men protect each other/won't hold each other accountable because they don't want to be held accountable themselves. The guy in charge of that hearing was Putnam - the one that had his hand cut off for his affair with Janine. If they start turning on each other, where does it end?
I also think they are kind of desperate. Sounds like there are sanctions, lots of fronts in the war, etc. And they are bumbling around talking about invading Canada. Lawrence is actually smart.
Lawrence was saved by Nick, who surely regrets it after that last meeting.
Yes, but I'd argue the above still stands.
I agree with all of it, just adding that Nick saved Lawrence for his own purposes, and that’s why he’s still alive. So many people live or die in Gilead because those in power have a personal stake in their outcome. None of it is truly based on “righteousness.” Ever shifting sands, nothing solid.
