The YJMA director used to coach at Stars and now hates Stars and bashes them every chance she gets. That is most of the trash that comes out. I don't think Stars is too concerned about YJMA, they are more concerned about playing lacrosse and having real teams.

Hi Anonymous- you are very brave.

I am not perfect for sure, but have some really nice emails from grateful parents. Good luck to all wherever is best for your children. Off to the lax field.

You were a coach for Cavs. Then you left. You were a coach at STARS. Then you left. Now you're at YJ?

You move clubs after parents and families complain about you from the sideline and you go to where you can build a team around your daughter and do what you want.

Lots of parent coaches at this club and their daughters are on the team.

Liz Case, Director, wanted people to buy her club. She contacted several other clubs before YJ said yes.

Just know before you buy. Slapping a club logo on a previous program doesn't really mean much.

I am happy to share my experience with northern Virginia lacrosse and hope it helps someone.

First, no program is perfect. I am not perfect as a coach or as a person. And frankly their are toxic parents too.

I have two daughters who have played Dulles South Lacrosse, rec league in Ashburn/Brambleton area.

My 2025 daughter has played 2 years at a developing program in Loudoun at the time. She learned a lot and made great friends. And to be transparent I and a friend of mine coached the team and it was a 25/26 blend at the time.

My 25 daughter then tried out for some of the more established programs and chose one out of Alexandria. I paid for what I hoped to be excellent coaching. A couple of college graduated lacrosse players were the coaches. New in to the job market and the traffic we all know and love makes it difficult logistically. So they were unable to consistently coach, get to know the girls and improve them as a team, much less focus on individual player improvement. Since I was there as the Dad volunteer, I was asked to head coach the team their 6th grade year. I am so proud of the girls on that team and we improved as a team and they did as individuals too.

My 25 was at the same program for 7th grade and I was a dad but also coached the other team that needed help coaching. My daughter did not advance nor develop and after that year we decided to go to a program after we worked with the Director M-W-F during last March thru May. The Director, Liz Case worked with the 4 girls she trained who improved significantly.

So we decided to continue to work with this Director and move to her program called the Rattlers and are now the Mid-Atlantic Yellow Jackets. My 2025 and 2027 play with a really great bunch of girls and look forward to continuing as Yellow Jackets. My 2025 has improved more as a player in 8 months with Liza and other great coaches then she did with her previous program in 2 years.

The YJs investment in our girls is second to none.

My 2027 has recently returned to lacrosse and just had a blast at the Summer Genesis tournament. Great kids and positive parents.

The grass is not always greener. Children develop on their timeline and as much as they are willing to work (on the rebounder outside of practice).

Both of my daughter enjoy playing, they are seeing improvement and success and the are having fun. I am so proud of them!

Yellow Jacket tryouts are 7/14/2021 click link below to learn about some exciting special guests from the National Champions who will be running a clinic between the tryout sessions.

The website to learn more: https://www.yjmidatlantic.com

Coach Mike Conner

P.S. - I would be happy to have a conversation if anyone would like to learn more.

I have only sons and no daughters so I normally read just the boys threads. But occasionally I drop in to see what is happening on the girls side. Those girl moms sure can get nasty!

lol, if Stars is a B club, does that make YJMA a F club?

I hope you don't think Stars is an A team, lol.

Not sure where that was said or brought up, but A/B who cares. At least it's not YJMA which is nothing more than a pyramid scheme run by endless lies.

Contact the club director to make an informed decision???? A club director's job is to sell their club to you. They are only going to sing the club's praises.

While there have been some trash posts in this thread, facts have also been shared. Yjma is not currently a successful program. They are unable to field competitive teams at any middle school level, and there are definitely better options.

Except you aren't going to get honest information from the yjma director. You will be sold the idea that you are joining the top program in nova when in reality they have played in the bottom or near bottom bracket in every tournament with incomplete teams and still finished below 500.

When did the MAYJ club form?

When did the 27/28 team start?

You are not going to get an informative answer from anonymous internet trolls that talk bad about other programs 247. Dcurbanmom forums are full of vitriol for one reason or another. I would just contact the club directly and see what they have to offer so you can make an informed decision.

Since this is the YJMA director commenting, I bet any questions can be answered here!

Nope, not associated with the program at all. Just letting them know that the vitriol comments from anonymous trolls aren’t informative to anyone. In the end you’re just bashing a program that young girls are a part of.

What can be conceived as bashing is actually truth shared by many posters here. The club director is taking money from those young girls/families based on false promises and lies. The club has to continually go to other clubs just to get enough players to field a team in tourneys and then the actual YJMA girls on the team don't even play. Troll or no troll, that is the truth.

Anyone who has common sense can see the BS listed here.

MAYJ don't have enough to field a team but also YJ players can't get on the field and don't get to play because of guests? Well, which one is it?
You need more than a starting lineup to play a tournament. If your daughter comes out of a game and a guest player goes in, what exactly is the problem?

I saw the MAYJ 27 team play in Hershey this weekend, they didn't have a lot of subs, they played hard, won a few games. Looked like they were all enjoying it, on and off the field.

To spell it out for some, the YJMA 27 team is comprised of 28s and 27s. There still isn't enough to field a full roster in the recent tournaments and as a result, they have had to include other players from other clubs, i.e. YJS, etc. Come game time, the actual YJMA players get barely if any playing time as the "guests" play the whole game along with a few starters on YJMA. What's not to understand?

Glad they had a good tourney! Out of curiosity what division are they playing in? How are they doing against M&D, Hero's, Skywalkers, Pride, Crush, NL, MCE, MDU etc?

They can't compete with those clubs you just named, neither can Stars.

What parent would continue to play on a club that has so many "guests" that the original members don't play? That's so out of the realm of reality.

Yes, they have 27/28 girls on that team, again, they need guests to field a team to play in tournaments, not uncommon for new club teams.

Thanks Liz for commenting, since you specifically mentioned Stars. Good job hiding though. Too bad that joke of a club YJMA can't beat Stars either.

You at least see reality, those parents are all leaving your sham to go to real clubs since they pay to sit on the bench while the guests play. This isn't a new club though, how long was Rattlers around for?

Good luck seeing this implode from within. The other DMV teams will continue to thrive while the Hive dies!
