Mn "play the numbers game". If you act interested in enough women, a certain percentage will be interested (because they think the man is interested). Of those, a certain number of women will have sex right away. So, men who are hitting on women really have nothing to lose, even if you aren't that good looking.

If you are a woman, and putting it out there from your (pre-COVID) perch at J. Gilbert's, then it is likely to get picked up.

However, the men hitting on you are not doing so because they believe you will be a great wife. In fact, they are going to block your number as soon as they leave your apartment.

Read my post. I never said looking for sex is bad. I pointed out that "having men hit on you all the time" does not mean you are attractive.

You are confusing "attractive enough to have sex with" - which for most men covers a very wide population - with beautiful enough to attract a mate that most other women would desire for the same reason.

If you are looking for sex, I hope you find and enjoy it. However, you are not attractive simply because men will have sex with you. It is much more likely that your appeal is based on your willingness to have sex, not your appearance. Now, this is not true in every case and there are a number of women on DCUM who are very attractive.

To the PPs promoting Eharmony and Match, those are trash today. I think most sites see a sharp degrade in quality the more mainstream they become. I used to meet great men on those sites when single years ago. Same with OKC. They're all a waste of time today.

OP, I'd suggest Hinge. I'm mid 30s and am not attracted to mid-40s and older. Hinge is made up primarily of millennials. 95% of my matches are 32-38 and there are plenty of professional men. My gf has had success on Bumble.

I agree. Know what you want and be clear on what you expect. If you know what you want, you have a better chance of getting it. I knew the type of guy I wanted would probably not go on a dating app, so I focused on networking and asking friends to set me up. It worked.


I don't have friends though. All my friends turned out to be major flakes. I'm a very young looking late 30s f never married who 20 somethings always mistake me for their age. Younger men frequently hit on me but I'd like someone single mature and settled and a little closer to my age. If I look at guys in their 40s they look like my father.


Yikes. If that is you, OP, it is a major red flag that you have no friends. It makes me wonder why you're getting divorced.
