Is this the sentiment that Metro parents or coaches feel about criticism? This criticism seems fair even though poorly communicated by PP. It doesn't mean there ins't a valid reason for what PP saw, just means PP saw what he saw.

I think it is more of why do you even care enough to comment. It honestly never, ever occurred to me to go on a website and criticize another club after a game. I honestly just don’t get it. There have been lots of games where opposing parents were terrible, or a coach but I never felt compelled to post about it.

Trashing players is pathetic.
It is a game, kids play, some teams/clubs are better than others and that’s the end of it. And, frankly, if my kids team won any criticism of the other team seems at best unsportsmanlike and at worst punching down.

And then on top of it, the piling on of a new club and the fact that a new club in higher level leagues struggles is also baffling. I’m not exactly sure what Metro has done to garner so much animosity.

There is nothing wrong with comments, criticism, or praise, even if you don't understand why PP or any others needs to do it on a website. If you believe it's appropriate to respond, do so, if it's ignorant, feel free to ignore.

And on top of that, any club new or old, should stand behind their decisions and expect comments, whether praise or criticism. That's fair. It's fair to argue whether they are a competitive program in the area worth another look. Especially since there seems to be some controversy about new players and returning players from a program new to the area.

Why should someone’s ignorant statement be ignored? The thing with the criticisms are they are often based on ignorance and that is when they should be challenged instead of ignored to be assumed to be true.

The reality is, if you are happy at your club, pleased with your team there should be no need to criticize another club. There is no moral obligation to be had here. I just really don’t understand the value of doing it.

I wasn't clear. You don't NEED to respond to criticism, or you can, your choice. You don't NEED to comment, but you can, your choice. Should one so desire either, through want or need, this website exists.

AND like any medium, some comments should be ignored and some should be considered. How you determine which are the wheat and which are the chaff is up you. I'm not the OP or criticizing about small and big players and I'd never post the way that some post here, but your responses... It's like watching 45 tweeting and you all taking the bait. And 45 keeps doing it because it seems to work.

Exactly where is the need to criticize?

That doesn’t really explain the motivation though. It comes off more punching down then honest constructive criticism.

Of course you’re free to do it and I’m free to think it is a pretty petty thing to bother doing. Criticizing a bad club is a pretty insecure thing to do.

So it’s fair to attack parents because their kids play at MU? The attacks against this club are crazy. You are just trolling.

LOL! Metro’s doing just fine. The pipeline seems to be starting to work and rosters are filling quickly. The coaches have done a really good job this spring with the zoom meetings, training plans, IDPs, which are very detailed and thorough. It’s definitely a club for people who want their kids to develop as soccer players.

+1. The club is doing a great job with the situation. Too bad for any of the girls departing and good fortune for those joining.

Any MU parents or coaches have reliable information?
