Oh boy.

Ps. Its June. There are no free agents roaming around.

PS. They probably prefer to follow the rules and not openly recruit from other DA clubs. So holding sessions keeps word out there are open spots and when the window opens which is the end of the season, July 1, then those players who do not like their environment can have a look. But you know, some clubs would prefer to risk a kids season just to get someone from another DA.

Wrong again-they will be losing several good starters this year. At U14, things will be an uphill battle unless recruiting efforts were stellar.

On at least 3 teams: rising U15, rising U16, and rising U17, they lost bottom players, kept the key players and in some cases may be adding some talent. I don't know about rising U19s or rising U14s, but every club has pocket age groups that aren't very strong. And I do mean every club.

Lmfaoooooooooooo

I know so many nice parents and players outside of Spirit, it’s hard to believe they would want to be associated with you. Or that they are two-faced.

PP can’t be FCV, that would be sad. Zero class, FCV isnt that. They are humble and know their program is solid for years to come.
Maybe it’s Arlington, seemingly quiet but fomenting unrest. No, that can’t be right, they have some nice parents and players too and their DA is having great success, right? Top of the league and the majority of players continued development look great?

Is it an ECNL team, hoping to recruit players who want to play HS ball first, thinking the competition of MA isnt what keeps them on top? Maybe its the ECNL clubs trying to cope with the transition from success at older ages to mediocrity of the younger ones.

Soon to be ex-Spirit parent or the one who wont leave but complains non-stop on this forum?

You just called kids "bottom players" and now you are acting like a victim because someone wrote "Lmfaooo". Dont throw a rock if you're not ready for one to come back.

I don’t recall posting anything about bottom players or being a victim. Just sharing the sentiment of LMaOoOoOoOoOOoooOoOO

MU might be your choice but if FCV gets its act together re: St James and Arlington remains a viable option, MU will get squeezed if it can't build momentum. We are in a wait and see situation and any input can change the entire dynamic.

I believe the market is divided into two segments: Elites girls who want HS and elite girls those who don't. ECNL/EDP/CCL and DA are the choices.

In NoVa, elite girls have a bounty of options. Even if MU falls, there will be other clubs that will step up to fiil the slot.

C. Player Transfers / Releases

1. Transfer of a player from one DA team to another shall be treated like any other adds.

2. Players are free to transfer between DA Clubs during off seasons, subject only to meeting a given Club’s registration deadlines/eligibility requirements.

3. Transfers during a season must be sent to DA Staff and the staff shall review and have the authority to approve or deny a transfer of a player in all circumstances.
In general, a player who wishes to transfer to a new DA team during the season should obtain a release from their original DA Club in writing before transferring or communicating with another club.
a) In all other circumstances, the DA Club has the discretion to transfer / release or not transfer / release the player during the Academy Season.
b) Prior to approval by DA Staff of a transfer request, players may not train or otherwise participate with a DA team with which they are not officially rostered.
c) If a player trains with another DA team prior to receiving a release, they may not be permitted to transfer to that DA Club.

4. Clubs wishing to speak to a player registered with another DA Club must state their intentions in writing to the player’s original/current club, the DA Staff, and their respective Technical
Advisors.

5. Regardless of the scenario, any transfer player will sit all head-to-head regular season fixtures between former and new club, regardless of being released by their previous club (this does
not apply to preseason or the postseason). If there are no head-to-head fixtures that remain in the current season, the player will be eligible to participate, pending service of any other
suspensions.

Anonymous wrote:Promoting GFR NPL teams to DA when they hit U13 with adding a player or two isn't really going to cut it

Promoting NPL teams to DA aid what FCV is now doing. FCV 07’s has ZERO outside interest.

Loudoun is simply promoting Red and Black

Arlington is simply promoting Red

McLean is simply promoting Green.

You are living in the past. The days of FCV and McLean being in a two horse race for all the best talent in the region are over. Talent will shift around incrementally from now on.

The future of FCV’s player pool is in serious question with their move to Springfield.

Lol. Former 2006 Spirit parent, enjoy your new club and stop trolling the parents you left behind. Parents are the worst judge of their own kids talent, FYI.

It will take time but they will be fine. They will draw the Loudoun and Fairfax county kids that want DA.

Your top 5 player argument is false and it is getting old.

There are 333 D1 womens soccer programs (though not all fully funded). https://www.ncsasports.org/womens-soccer/division-1-colleges

The average roster size is 29.

The average recruiting class is 7.

333 D1 schools * 7 recruits per class = 2331

There are 52 ECNL clubs with a U18 team (from what I could find...this may be less)

There are 72 DA teams with a U18/19 team.

Genuinely curious, where did you get your numbers?

Going to the ECNL standings, there are 94 U18/19 teams plus 44 U18/19 composite teams, so you're way low there but looking at the DA standings, there are only 59 active U18/19 teams so you're way high there.

Just a quick google search. I wasn't going to spend the time to count. They are close enough to prove the PP point that bench players don't play D1, that only the top 5 players on each team play D1. Foolish thinking.

And a stat I didn't mention that ECNL publishes is how many go on to play D1. The numbers took a huge hit this past season (1633 total players, 847 D1) with only 52% going D1. Previous seasons that number hovered between 75-85%.

Lots of players that don't play ECNL or DA can and will get recruited D1. But it is a harder road IMO. The team will get less visibility and less coaches. Parents/players have to do ALL the work and hit ID camps.
