Yes, I know the smell.
A small amount of Vichy deodorant behind the ears and/or the back of neck right under hairline.
This really works for me, so i do this right before I got outside.

Outside is 100% a smell. I read it's generally a combo of the dyes in your clothes + sunlight+ your smells. Children coming inside from recess often have this smell. We call it 'play' or 'outdoors'.

I know what you’re talking about. I live in DC, and those Covid weeks when everyone was at home was the only time I didn’t smell that smell outside.

I know this smell, kinda like a smelly puppy…if you’ve ever had kids play outside and come in…you know this smell at least in TX. I can smell it on our glassware too if we sit outside and drink. But mainly it’s in the hair, and on body.

I love the smell when people come inside, so this is bizarre to me! There’s a winter smell. A summer smell. Fall and Spring are least noticeable. But none bother me and often those smells trigger happy childhood memories like my dad coming home after a long day at work, staying out to shovel the walk and then coming in to give me a huge hug. My mom coming home from a summer run. Etc.

A couple of weeks back we had metallic/magnetic dust all over our cars in south Alabama. Have heard reports of the same as far as ft myers florida.

There was a time I found out my neighbors had all kinds of drying racks in their basement because they didn't like the impact of using a clothes drier. Guy was a chemist and he felt drying outside would do more harm than good. Also didn't believe in opening windows, ever. I am someone who knows the smell, and this was living fairly near major commuter arteries with daily periods of idling cars.
