So I pulled out my phone and summoned an Uber, next thing I know, not more than 5 minutes later, speeding around the corner, 2 Vienna police cruisers with search lights on... someone had called the police on me and my little boy, maybe the caller, called the police because they were concerned for our safety, thought the police could help, but I doubt it since the the police came around the corner at breakneck speed in, heavy pursuit mode.

They didn't see me, as I was sitting on my friends porch, but they did see all the extra cars parked in the street, the music coming from the house, and the lights on, so they probably figured it out for themselves, that a party guest was either looking for a parking space, or leaving the party, they left fairly quickly after doing a slow drive by.

If I hadn't been sitting on my friends porch at the time, and had instead still been in my car, perhaps I too might have become another statistic. Law abiding middle aged AA mom, blasted to little bits, in front of her baby boy -- crime having the audacity to be in a neighborhood someone didn't think she should be in.

If I had been of any other race, perhaps I might have flagged down the police to ask for help, but being an AA person, I know that doing so might have cost me, and or my son our lives. So I sat quietly in the dark, on the porch, hoping that they would leave before the Uber driver showed up.

Things black people can't do -- we have to be careful when we go to certain neighborhoods, if we have car trouble we can't expect to be given the benefit of the doubt, and we can't assume the police are there to serve, protect or to help us, as doing so could end in getting you and your family roughed up, or even worse. . . shot dead.

I don’t understand how you knew they called the police on you.

What? None of this makes any sense at all. Did someone call the police on you and then the police came to find you and then they left because you were hiding?

Walking your dog is proving to be dangerous for black people.

Well that’s the point. Freedoms the rest of us enjoy everyday can get a black person arrested. This thread shows lots of examples. Don’t be daft.

This can literally be anything because you are doing it while black. If you are black, you can't not do it while black.

Don’t be a polite, cooperative, averaged-sized, neatly-dressed, innocent 10 yr old, and not expect to be handcuffed and driven off by at least 5 police officerers.

This is a BS example. The kid was running around literally screaming his head off after dark on a quiet street. The neighbor couldn’t even see who it was. They called because of legitimate concern.
AND when the police arrived they were affable and good natured with the kid. Textbook example of how officers should respond.
Thanks, NEXT.

And the woman who called was also black.

For the two posters who responded, why did you both feel the need to research it and debunk this? The way I am a new poster.

I didn’t reaserxh sh#t. This was on my local news. It’s was a funny story and the kid was interviewed. Didn’t enjoy seeing it misrepresented here.

This should be used as a training video to show the exact opposite of how a policeman can help de-escalate a situation. It’s awful. This guy should not be in a position of any authority and absolutely should not be licensed to carry a weapon.

Perfect example of a bad cop. He’ll definitely spaz out and shoot someone soon. He seems more like a Kevin Hart character : CALM DOWN! YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN !! (he screams in angst at a low situation).

Ummm.. wut?
This women didn’t pick up her dog’s poop, assualted another person and stole their phone.
Uh yeah... she got arrested.
Duh.

Hm, would need to see the video to really decide, stopping your car to videotape a scofflaw dog walker not picking up the poop is a symptom of crazy. I also assume it was a small dog--ratcheting up to getting out and video recording because of a pooping large dog or breed associated with attack would be pretty reckless.

People who don't pickup their dogs poo are inconsiderate and nasty. I'm tired of rude entitled people like those and I'm sure that car lady was too. Anyway the dog poo lady could've picked up her dog poo but instead didn't and took out her phone to videotape the other lady before she got physical. She should've just picked up the dog poo and left but didn't lol dumb criminal then took her gps tracking phone home.
