They didn’t. Won all 4 games at Elite 80. If you look at Inside Lacrosse online, they did a write up on the event and called out a few players. Sounds like a really impressive group. They win a ton of high level/NLF type tournaments, can’t deny that. Prob a top 2 or 3 team their age in the country based on who they have beaten and what they have won.
I think there is enough talent for both NL and DCE to succeed going forward. There is so much more talent than ever before. The bad teams w/in each club has more to do w old ownership (NL) and being new (DCE) than anything. And I say this as a father who has a son who has played for both. Good people building good programs.
2 good clubs in southern moco is better for everyone.
Wrong, dad. There is not enoihh talent in MoCo tonsupport teo great trams in the same grade. NL should try to push hard to take advantage of thr bad press and greed surrounding DCE. People view DCE are scumbags for what they did to Bullis, so NL should try to capitalize.
OP here. I didn’t say you could have multiple “great” teams in the same year. I said that both programs can succeed and be good. If you look around, 2018 and 2019 Madlax has best teams, 20 is NL and 21 is DCE. All the other teams at each of those programs vary from flat out stink to decent, including Madlax and VLC (who I haven’t seen at a really strong/high level tourney in years). I don’t think this is an anamolyie the great teams are at different clubs at different years. Long Island clubs have some great teams certain years, then some so-so teams others (91, LIE, PrimeTime, Igloo) Same for Philly and Baltimore, based on my experience of a couple of sons.
As far how people view DCE, I don’t have a horse in the race as my son didn’t make a team there. But I will tell you they had a ton of kids trying out at multiple ages. NL was about the same. So I think people are just trying to find a right fit for the kids. What did or didn’t happen w Bullis has made zero difference w the people I know who have kids playing at that level. Opportunity to play, as opposed to sitting on bench, and then playing at best tourny’s are the drivers.
