I’m not sure why a 7 1/2 year old thread was resurrected, but I confess that I read through all of it, and some of the responses really made me laugh. I have a trio of British actors whom I do not find attractive at all in still photos, but who are swoon-worthy when they’re acting—Daniel Craig, Rufus Sewell, and Idris Elba. All of them are odd looking in 2-D photos, but onscreen the combo of voice, mannerisms, and expressions . . . man o man.

A lot of these people are actors not models. Actors need to have energy, talent, on-screen presence, along with a decent work ethic. It’s never been solely about beauty for the best actors.

Zendaya looks like a teen boy. Mila Kunis. Sandra Bullock. Natalie Portman. Anne Hathaway. Jennifer Lawrence. Blake Lively. Rhianna looks like an alien with a huge forehead.

For the last couple of decades it almost seems like they’re mocking dumb audiences with these mediocre women they turn into A list beauties.

I see people differently. I rarely meet someone I think of as ugly and then it’s usually their personality that sends them over the line.

I guess I am not picky or I see something beneath.

Most of Hollywood is smoke and mirrors/illusion. That’s their whole business. Outside of generally being much thinner/fitter than the average person, most celebrities aren’t naturally *that* striking: it takes a lot of makeup, weave, spray tan, etc etc. The glam effect.

The public being gaslit during the Obama admin that Michelle was attractive. Give me a freaking break.

May I present Jon Hamm. He got years of hype for allegedly being so sexy. He has dark hair and strong features; but add 10 pounds and he is the guest actor on any episode of Law and Order.

Cameron was beautiful when she was younger, but she hasn’t aged very well.

She has too many wrinkles.

Jennifer Aniston looks good sometimes on video but I don’t think she has ever been very photogenic.
She is rather plain looking imo.
Odd shaped chin, thin lips and her nose it too large.

But I think Britney is very pretty.
Like Cameron, hasn’t aged too well but can still be pretty when she tries.
