Of course she is. Fake attorney whose only employment of note was as an oppo researcher for Turd Blossom.

From the federal employee offsets paid to schools to MDs who rely on FEHB patients to what happens to real estate prices if there are massive federal layoffs. The margin in Congress is close, and her vote matters.

Also, we need someone actively promoting Feds. Not someone who stays quietly on the sidelines and then reluctantly supports us. Either she is actively pro-Fed, actively fighting things that harm Feds. Or she is in the wrong district.

how did she get into office in the first place? Seems like the feds in the district are happy with her policy stances.

Feds were not paying as much attention before now. And were not as much under fire. Obama was great for Feds, and there was never a real danger of mass layoff, killing our pensions, etc, while he was able to veto. I know, as a Fed, I wasn't paying much attention to Comstock under Obama. Because what she did didn't matter that much. Now that we have Trump, who wants to slash agencies, appoint terrible agency heads, repeal merit systems protections, decimate pensions, etc., every single vote in the house matters. So, I have started paying a lot of attention to Comstock. And an really appalled to discover that she will vote for Feds at the last minute and if Paul Ryan releases her vote. Certainly, she is not being proactive or actually fighting for us.

Also, she could hold a flipping town hall. It's not like she even has to travel to her district. This is an educated affluent group of voters. No one is going to throw things at her. But she needs to show up, in person, and answer questions about Feds and healthcare and metro
/ silver line and many other things.

Well, she's lived in McLean for decades. She worked at DOJ. She started her own policy shop. She was elected by this legislative district three times, 2009, 2011, and 2013 to the VA State Legislature. Then she ran for Congress and won handsomely twice in 2014 and 2016. Federal employees are very happy with her. She and her office have always been responsive when I've called. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Comstock

The district was also specially drawn for R votes and to pack D votes into Gerry Connolly's district. Does it make sense otherwise for McLean and Winchester to be in the same district? And drawn carefully to exclude D-voting areas of Centreville but include conservative Clifton.

True, it's gerrymandered. Hopefully the impending Supreme Court decision will remake the political map across this country.

Both sides do gerrymandering when they can, hopefully it will be fixed one day.

I don't know about other states, but in VA the Rs have been much worse for this. I'm not a fan of false equivalence, ya know?

Oh please, the Rs have been in charge when redistricting mattered, at least recently. Like all partisans, they try to maximize their advantage when they are in charge. Guess you are too young to remember when Ds did it to the Rs when the Dems used to control things in VA?

This is all typical partisan politics and we need to move beyond it.
