Bannon himself described Breitbart as a "platform for the alt-right." This is not something new that just emerged.
He is not "alt-right." He is conservative. His oldest daughter is a West Point graduate, which is also extemely impressive.
I am completely impressed with Trump's picks: Mike Pence, KellyAnne Conway, Rience Preibus and Stephen Bannon. Very impressive line up of people who deserve their appointments because of their long years of hard work for conservative causes.

Spoken like a true enemy of democracy. Last I checked, he still has to work with our representatives in Congress & the Senate to actually make any of these policies a reality. We can express our views to them and expect that to be conveyed. Have you seen how many senators have come out to denounce Bannon and ask Trump to rescind the appointment? Read the news. That's all because people are lighting up the phone lines.
Politics is a very messy business. Everyone needs something from everything else. A lot of trading, compromise, coalition building. Try doing that when your constituency is up in arms and the mid-term elections are right around the corner. If you ask me, even for the goals he has, Trump is going about this in a very stupid way.

He lost the popular vote and the difference in the electoral college came down to I think less than 100k votes. So he won, but hardly with a mandate.
I imagine if you went up and told your supervisor you hated green blouses she would either stop wearing them entirely, no matter how she felt about you personally expressing that, or she would wear green blouses every day to spite you, creating strife and unpleasantness in the office. Trump has essentially the same choice to make, respect the fact that a large amount of Americans want him to reject Bannon and what he stands for and somewhat resentfully not allow Bannon in the white house administration, or alienate more people by sticking to his guns.
The difference of course between your supervisor and the presidency is that you are serving your supervisor and the president is serving all Americans and therefore is more responsible for addressing our concerns than your supervisor is.
When it comes to how I am governed I'm not really in the business of knowing when my opinion is 'unwanted.' Silencing parts of the electorate is not the American way, sorry that's frustrating you.
I get to tell my congressmen whether or not I will support their reelection if they support, therefore giving me a bit of a 'vote' whether you like it or not.

This is a totally immature and ridiculously unrealistic sentiment. Yes, he won. But what he won is a position that entails leadership. To get anything of substance done, he must work with many, many people who don't share his views. If he's going to continue appointing unqualified extremists, he's going to find it very hard to make doors open and get things through. Our politics is one of consensus and compromise. We'll see whether he has it in him to accept that and do the job, or if he just wants to continue acting as if this is reality TV.
