I watched this over a decade ago and it still stays with me. It is heartbreaking but so well done.

For those who like sports, The Two Escobars and Once Brothers from the ESPN 30 for 30 series were great.

I remember when that one came out and I read the Wikipedia and ultimately decided I would find it too disturbing.

So good! You should watch it.

Just look away when you need to. But it was fascinating.

The King of Kong was surprisingly good. I'm not into video games but I really liked it. I find that to be the case with most documentaries.

The Deepest Breath was phenomenal. Sorry if anyone else has posted that, I don't have time to read through 17 pages right now.

How is March of the Penguins not here yet?

I also liked the recent Robin Williams one.

I ended up loving the kings of Tupelo. The first episode I thought it was just ok but my spouse was out of town and I didn’t want to continue any shows we watch together so I stick with it. Episode 2 was much better and the last 15 minutes might be my 15 favorite minutes of any movie or show.

The third and final episode was also very, very good. I know that’s vague but I don’t want to spoil anything. If you start and don’t like it, i recommend sticking with it!

I will say Free Solo made me feel extremely nervous even though I'd seen interviews with the climber and knew he was fine. The camera work was fantastic.

Dear Zachary has also stayed with me for years and I am still not over it.

TalHotBlonde (2009) was one where my mouth was agape at the end as the twist was not one I saw coming (at the time).

British director Michael Apted started the Up documentary series which followed the lives of 14 British children over many decades from the age of 7 in 1964 with the latest documentary 63Up in 2019. Interesting to follow their lives. I think it’s on Amazon Prime.

Far from the Tree about children who are profoundly different from their parents. Based on Andrew Soloman's book. Very moving
