Yes, I would never have the self confidence to do what you do*, and I definitely don't have the breasts (unless you like your nipples at navel level). Speaking of which, are most of your coworkers' bodies natural, or is breast augmentation common among strippers?
*I am talking both about stripping AND about setting up an AMA about it-- brave woman!
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Great AMA! OP, did you and your husband have a sit down to make the decision to go for this? I am wondering how it came about and also what the first few weeks were like for you. Thanks!
Thanks!
We did. I job hunted for nearly a year months - and landed a few promising interviews - before I came to the sad realization that I just wasn't going to find a job that was both flexible and paid enough to be worth it (to cover the cost of childcare). Stripping was something I'd always been curious about, and I asked my husband if he'd be okay with my going to an amateur night (many clubs have these as a means to recruit new dancers) - he was.
I felt ambivalent and nervous as hell at first, but I walked away from that experience the first night feeling empowered and alive in a new way. Maybe it was the addict in me responding to something, but it was a really, really good feeling. My husband and I talked about it at length, really explored the implications and various possibilities that come along with doing this job, and I decided to try it - knowing, of course, that I could quit at anytime.
The first few weeks (months, really) presented a huge learning curve. It's easy to dismiss stripping and strippers as your "last resort" type of work (like waitressing) but there really is a lot to learn. About self-presentation (and self-preservation - it's easy to get f*cked in the head doing this job), sales (all the job really is), and ultimately about human nature. It has a very dark side, undeniably so. But I value these experiences.
I am curious to know if stripping has changed your sex-life at home? Are you more open, daring, kinky? Or are you more reserved with DH, because you do not want him to think that your moves are something you are absorbing from your work life?
If your DH and you are cool with it, more power to you! I think we may have become as a society less liable to become shocked with nudity, thanks to celebrities like the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, and the nude photo hacking of hollywood A listers like JLaw.

I thought it was a reason able question. They can work from a studio or home, so it would be safer. They can make a ton of money, depending upon what they are willing to do and how many hours they are willing to work.
They can set their own hours.
Webcam girls come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. Many much older than the OP are doing quite well.
Countries, and areas within a country can be blocked, to keep people that you don't want to know what you are doing from finding out online. Seems like it would be easier to protect your identity than if stripping in a club.
Also, there are webcam girls that dance and make good money while probably showing less skin than OP does.
Sorry I overlooked that question.
No, I'm not interested in becoming a webcam girl. I don't even know what that is, but I imagine it would involve my computer and my home. So...not interested.
Why do you have such a high opinion of yourself?
Why shouldn't she? And what does that have to do with webcam stripping versus strip club stripping?
Her whole attitude is "I am above prostitution" "I am above using my home" "I don't want to see erect penises"
So you think op shouldn't have a right to set boundaries?
She takes her clothes off for strangers for money, having boundaries at this point is vital and empowering to her.
Fixed that for you!
How is it empowering? She shows men her naked body, but won't have sex with them. Excellent boundary there.
Um, yeah, it is. How is it that you don't see that? The men coming in know those are the rules, she's reaffirming it in her stance and answers here, she's making money (more than a lot of us) by doing so. In my mind, as long as she's cool with it, that equals empowering and having boundaries.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:By saying she shouldn't have boundaries, you're insinuating she would deserve rape if it happened. Just take your train of thought to the finish. See where it ends up? OP is a human, she's allowed to set boundaries over who, where, when and why anyone sees or touches her.
It baffles anyone's (logical) mind that that's not inherently obvious, but nice point.

She takes her clothes off for strangers for money, having boundaries at this point is kinda ridiculous
So you would feel exactly the same if your husband looked at someone else's naked breasts as if he had intercourse with a prostitute?
