What is that reason?
Also, vaginas are internal. If you're going about your business in the locker room, and the other people are going about their business in the locker room, you're not going to be seeing any vaginas.
I knew when I typed that that some idiot would feel the need to correct me. You know what the hell I mean.
Men and women are different. Some women are uncomfortable changing under the eyes of strange men, and vice versa. If I don't see your penis, fine, but if I do I will be uncomfortable. I think I have a right to not be put in that position in the ladies dressing room. I understand that transgender people have their own fears and threats, but I don't think the solution is to say screw the comfort of everyone else.
Not pp, but where do you suggest intersex people change? And what criteria would you use for your designation?
(I'd bet you don't even know what intersex means)
Why are you being rude? The criteria, in my opinion, should be external genitalia.
Can you answer the question?
Also, what gym has ever asked to see your external genitalia before becoming a member? Because I would really like to avoid that gym. Or any gym with members, male or female, man or woman, that likes to check out my genitalia in the locker room.
If a woman sees someone with a penis in the ladies lockeroom, she should have a right to complain. If she is able to see someone's penis, they obviously are doing a good job of being discrete. It isnt a matter at staring at genitals, its about being reasonably shocked and uncomfortable if you notice the wrong one. I don't know that you're trans upon sight of your penis, and it would make me uncomfortable.
Did this woman actually see a penis? Or did she just see a very masculine looking woman?

You still haven't clarified what "for obvious reason" that is, about penises or otherwise, that should not be in the same locker room as a vagina.
I've encountered some really obnoxious women that like to look, size up, and compare other women's bodies in the locker room. It's gross. I've never looked at their genitals, but they look like women. That kind of shit bothers me far more than someone who keeps their eyes to themselves, but may have a penis.

If you feel that way, there are plenty of other gyms that support your position and you are welcome to use any of them. The Planet Fitness policy is as stated. So, if you are not comfortable with it, pick another gym to exercise in.
I will be, obviously.
So there are a host of other gyms that provide support for people of your viewpoint, and there is ONE gym that provides for the comfort and security of the transgender community (and others who are judged or made uncomfortable by standard gyms) and you want them to change their policies so that there are NO publically available gyms that provide them a comfortable location to exercise?
Stop your kvetching about PF, pick another gym and let the transgender, their supporters and those who don't care use this gym.

+1. It really sounds as if the lady was completely disruptive and I applaud Planet Fitness for this move.
