The worst part it is done behind closed doors (or at least they think they are closed). That's the thing about leaks - they always come out.
Yes the "off the record" blackballing that happens so there is no paper trail. I bet if one sued over libel or defamation of character, they wouldn't be able hide it unless willing to lie in a court of law. Boy what a mess it would be.
That's a strong accusation of religion-based discrimination you are making. I hope you're sure about it, and are prepared to provide your basis for making this public statement that could reasonably be seen as damaging to both the organization and the individuals involved in membership admission decisions.

You notice Obama or Tiger woods or a million other people of color or Jewish people are members of clubs. Clubs want people with MONEY (so that they know that they can pay their dues), and people who use the club (aka play golf and tennis and swim as that is how they make money). We actually toured one club that we decided not to join because for years they had only admitted Jewish people. We didn't feel that it was a good fit for us.
You can't discriminate against people who don't apply. Did you ever consider that AA's are a minority at clubs because very few AA's PLAY golf?

I mean, is the NBA racist because its overwhelmingly one color?
Maybe you can get involved with a program like The First Tee and help young minorities pick up the game rather than ranting about country clubs.
I don't think anyone on here is anti-clubs. They are replying to the op about a particular club and answering her/his question candidly. All clubs don't discriminate but the one op asked about has a history of doing so and apparently according to some they are still doing it but more secretly. Instead of being on here and being so defensive why don't you go play some golf?

You do understand that private clubs can make their own rules? You don't seem to understand this concept.
