^^I actually thought it might result in an electrical fire. We had a non-functioning new carbon monoxide detector, too. Turns out that there was defective wiring at that outlet. I actually got a little shock from plugging something in once and called in an electrician, who found the hot wire right away. So, heads-up to the rest of DCUM.

Not sure what you mean but this is 6:57....and I am not "Barb". I just happened upon this old thread because it was mentioned in a now current thread and I was very curious as to what happened to OP as I remember this original thread from a few years ago.
