When my daughter was 7, she had a girlfriend with two moms. I explained in age appropriate terms why two moms. However, I would not allow sleepovers until she got older so I could explain her friend's parents adult relationship. Well, nobody's ever said that to my face since I left the South. When I read it or hear it in interviews on tv or whatever, I just feel bad for them that they have to go through life so small-minded, and hope they're not raising another generation with the same thinking.
