Yeah, that's right..........................

You are way off base here. This is inappropriate.
Actually, it's not off base at all. If we, as a society, decide that obviously disabled children not be born then we are practicing Eugenics even if we fail to acknowledge it. I am not talking about those who have conditions that are incompatible with life. I am talking about children with Down Syndrome, deformed limbs, missing limbs and other detectable non typical development.
If we decrease the numbers of children with mental delays and children who are deformed then we give these children, and adults,a stigma.
The only way to avoid a stigma is to address these differences head on and not hide them from the rest of the world. I have known, and do know, children and adults that are disabled and live good lives. My BFF works for ARC and she loves the people she works with. She has become close friends with one woman and takes her out for dinner, picnics, and concerts. She enjoys the time she spends with this woman. My friend gains so much from working with these disabled adults. In the ten years she has worked there my friend has become more compassionate and empathetic. She has a much better understanding of the world and the importance of the people in it.
I should also, for the sake of it, mention that I am not against abortion and I understand the difficulties of having a disabled child and the work involved (I have 2). I just think that we don't know what we are capable of until we enter the situation. We talk ourselves out of it and we are sure we can't handle it. The decision isn't an easy one but many times I think the people that terminate because their child will be disabled are overwhelmed by what their life would be like. But they really don't know what it's like or what that person would be like if he or she would be born.
As far as Hitler goes, he wanted a master race. That involved killing the disabled and made it illegal for fit the ideal women to have an abortion. I don't see much difference when it comes to aborting a pregnancy that isn't ideal. Again, for LIVID's sake, I will say that this doesn't include a fetus that has a condition that isn't compatible with life.
