I think the purpose of the law is for the woman to see the beating heart. She won't be able to see it without the probe. Without her seeing the heartbeat, the law is just pointless.

It matters not even a little that you think someone is a hypocrite (I would argue against that; presumably in an abortion, one would consent.) Again, you are saying it is ok for some random medical professional to stick a probe in my vagina w/o my consent.
How can anyone, I don't care how "pro life" you are, support that? It is medieval. And, it has NO basis in women's health and everything to do with PUNISHING a woman who wants an abortion. It's disgusting.
The punishment should fit the crime: infanticide. Oh but I forgot, it's all about me and my body....god forbid anyone would think about someone other than themselves for once, like the LIFE they are ending. Disgusting is right.

last I checked abortion was not a crime....

And this would be a bad thing?!

They don't have anything on the ultrasound, I think because both house and senate voted, so there's no one left to influence but McDonnell (who IIRC wrote a law school paper for the former Bob Jones University on how women shouldn't work out of the home).
Is that the Governor McDonnell who might be tapped for VP?
the Republicans DEFINITELY should have left this for after the election.
meanwhile, here are some medical implements courtesy of McDonnell:

Yeah I was worried there for a while. I figured all the Republicans had to do was hammer away on the economy and Obama'd be toast. They should have waited until after the election to start in on this shit.
Now it looks like re-election for Obama. Economy showing signs of life and Republicans showing true colors on women.
You Republicans screwed yourselves.
