Right. The newletter report leads one to believe the board is considering the DCI. But, the board minutes (an official document) seem to indicate that the DCI has never been discussed.
That's why the PP asked you to share information on where the board minutes are posted. Can you tell us?
Not posted, you need to go to the school and ask for them. Then wait three days, ask again. Ask a third time. Get a book with minutes, read them, take notes. Not publicly posted, sorry.

Why is it so awful for them to desire this. Isn't it a high school for language learners? Won't they need one? Duh! If outside kids don't care about Hebrew, don't chose to study it in their schedules. Simple. Leave Sela alone (remember that guy who cried over Britney bashing?) Leave. Sela. Alone!
You're totally right! Just one thing though... in order to leave Sela alone, Sela folks need to not come into every.DCI.thread. talking about being part of DCI. It's totally understandable Sela wants to join, understandable DCI wants lots of languages. Can we be done then? But check the threads, it is ALWAYS a Sela booster who starts the conversation about Sela in DCI. Some of us are just tired of wanting to read about DCI and it always ending up a Sela conversation, so I'm with you, let's leave Sela alone, but hello, can Sela leave DCI threads alone for once too?
You are making the assumption that it is Sela parents making those comments. You know what happens when you assume...

Anonymous wrote:Different poster. I think the point is, neither Sela nor DCI are open yet so you're stressing about inclusion in something before either school has even opened their doors and begun to teach. There are a ton of details both schools need to attend to unrelated to each other. So the fact that every single time DCI is mentioned someone comes on thread and brings up how perfect they think Sela is for DCI is really rubbing many people the wrong way. Sela also mentions its inclusion in DCI when recruiting for students more than any school ever should given that it a) isn't even open yet; b) does not have DCI in their charter; and c) has no commitment of inclusion from DCI right now.

I think what rubs a lot of people the wrong way is:
1. It's pretty clear from this thread at least that the people posting about Sela(h) sic are parents at other schools, and not Sela(h) parents, and all they did was express their wish that Sela be part of DCI - and then a lot of people emptied out their livers on them (is it anti-semitic code as a PP suggested, as an AA mom, it certainly feels like irrational prejudice -which I am used to on DCUM), but I do think this bothers many many people, and this causes people to respond when someone bashes Sela(h);
2. There is no evidence that Sela(h) mentions its inclusion in DCI when recruiting students - I have a coworker who is sending her daughter. She asked them at their information session about MS and they said they were focused on opening, and that their charter runs up to 5th grade currently, but that they intended to go up to MS, either as a stand-alone school, as part of DCI, or as part of a partnership of charter MS that doesn't exist yet - they did not say they were part of DCI and it's not on their website - I checked.
3. the denigration that anyone who sends anything not bilious about Sela(h) is a booster or a troll.

This thread dates to Feb 2012 and mentions MV in its first post. That means MV was a whopping 5-6 months old at best. How is that considered "proving itself"?
Wacko, obsessed, wacko. Notice the title of this thread? Please open a new one titled Sela BS, and have fun there while letting others discuss other topics. Thanks.
I have no interest in Sela. I am very happy with my current charter. I'm just inquiring about what appears to be unfair treatment. I have read quite a few pages with different posters asking why MV was welcomed into DCI with open arms when it was months old, but I have not seen one coherent response. Only attacks of being Sela boosters or "wackos".
Because only wackos can't understand that MV has already been open and working well for at least 2 years, while Sela hasn't opened its doors yet. As we have discussed in dozens of threads already, where Sela boosters appear out of nowhere, in topics unrelated to Sela, to boost their case with exaggerated if not outright false claims.
I do hope the school succeeds, and am mystified about their behavior in this forum.
Wrong. The previous post is correct. MV was months old when they were discussing joining DCI. It's not even two years old now. What gives? Why the animosity? How was MV accepted so graciously and any other new or potential language charters (Sela or any others that open soon) have to prove their record?
Good lord. What did Sela do to attract these wackos?
