As a couple we did it the year after we moved to this area. We were 38/39!
We barely made anything in the Midwest.
Individually, my husband did as a contractor at 41. Now he is close as a permanent hire.
I'm a Fed GS11 at 69.4k

It depends on who you're making fun of. Jokes on lawyers, doctors, politicians, the rich and powerful can be fun. Jokes on the working class, minorities, etc. - not funny.
What about a minority doctor?
Anyway, it's refreshing to see someone own her hypocrisy. Rock on.
