For the person who said they'd not want their kids to date in high school, my kid goes to a school where most of the students are Indian or Asian and they mostly do it behind their parents backs because they arent supposed to date in school. Its not possible to raise your kids in an insular way and expect them to adhere to your beliefs alone if they attend regular American schools be it public or private or live within the general American populace. There are religious folks who send their kids to religious schools and live within their communities who manage to enforce their beliefs and rules but really, how practical or feasible is that in the long term if immigrants dont assimilate. Whats the point of moving to a different country and culture and refusing to even consider assimilating. Not saying that you take on all the bad along with the good but shutting out your family from the outside world doesnt work
