I am not denying that he wasn't a perfect high school student, but he chose Brown in part because his cousin Kerry had gone to college there and really loved it.

People are criticizing Naomi's performance because it comes off as weird, but Jackie really was that stilted and affected. Go watch the Jackie O White House tour. Naomi is doing a slightly less affected version of that, which makes sense, since she probably wouldn't be that stiff in private. But she had that very affected accent and breathy voice.

Ivy League schools accept 100% of Kennedys.

That was the subtle joke in the dinner party scene where everyone was talking about going to Harvard. As though any of them earned admission for anything other than their name.

He comes across as too meek and nice. Whereas interviews I have seen of JFK jr show him as being really confident and slightly cocky.

Agree. He is not capturing his essence. The actors who I think did a great job are the people playing-
Ethel
Daryl Hannah
Caroline

The actors playing John and Carolyn missed it. And Naomi Watts did the worst job.

Wasn't he kind of a himbo?

So many of the Kennedys had gone to Harvard. With his fame & connections, at the time it was surprising, but not alarming, that he ended up at Brown.

But in light of his subsequent performance (going to NYU law instead of an Ivy, twice failing the bar exam, foolishly flying in bad weather), the fact that he went to Brown should have been a red flag on his intelligence.

Yeah, yeah, yeah I know Brown & NYU law are wonderful, but we’re talking about a national, historical, & romantic icon here…who you’d think could have gone wherever he wanted, like his sister did.

I am confused by how they made Daryl Hannah look ugly and made CB look gorgeous. It's creating a dichotomy that did not exist at all.

I don't have the stamina to sift through 17 pages of comments here, but I am finding this show to be pretty bad. It's the writing and the acting.

Naomi Watts had the hard job of becoming Jackie, and she didn't rise to it. She sounds ridiculous, and it is distracting. Perhaps inevitable given that the writing isn't great. Paul Kelly is just not good at all. Sarah Pidgeon is much better, but she's dealing with the bad writing as well. I'm two episodes in and will probably not watch the rest.

I like the music and 90s vibe and costumes but JFK Jr seems like a sweet shy man and that's not at all how he seemed, like they removed all the magnetism and confidence from him. Do not care for Meryl's dd who is just the dullest actress in everything. The one who steals the show for me is Kelly Klein.

Does anybody see even the faintest physical resemblance between the actress & Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg?

I don't think Grace resembles Caroline but I think she did a great job with the posture and mannerisms, and did a good job of capturing Caroline's practicality and guardedness. I also think the styling is pretty good:

The styling IS good but I think they portray Caroline is a stuffy bore with zero personality or inner joy whatsoever. Being guarded does not mean you are like that especially when with loved ones.

I think she is a stuffy bore! I remember when there was talk of her running for office in New York. She was hyped up and then did some interviews. She was awful snd that idea went out the window. I don't think she's very interesting. She doesn't seem like a bad person and seems to have survived incredible tragedies with grace, but she does seem boring and dull.

I bet she would kill for a boring and dull life. She has known more loss than anyone ever should.

I actually think the actress captures her likeness remarkably well. Her shaggy hair, her walk, her voice. I agree Daryl Hannah is supremely irritating and whiny in this show, but job well done on the actor’s part.

The actors portraying Carolyn B and John don’t capture their essence at all. And of course Naomi Watts playing Jackie is a joke. Terrible casting.

The Daryl Hannah portrayal is a hoot. It is not flattering but probably accurate. She was probably very Hollywood-New Age.

How’d she end up married to Neil Young?

They are both really into environmental causes and activism.
