Why didn’t you like him? Everyone complains about kickball but he seems to at least try to play a possession game.

He’s a verbally abusive misogynist

Why do the same coaches keep cycling through clubs like musical chairs? Aren’t there some different coaches who could be hired? They keep bringing the old gang back.

Yep, we left GFR because of him too. Says he’s cosching GA teams but which?

Combine this with GA options at five clubs, new grade level rules etc and you have major uprising again. These coaches treated seasoned players like trash to bring in outside kick and run failures and younger unexplained promotions that led to fall on your face failure in Norco.

They all coattails of cc and most parents saw the true nature of the coaching. They don't coach. They just try to get players from other clubs and move existing players down to second teams to build the club. It is a method that won't work now that there is league competition from other clubs giving girls options away from the club to continue to play at the same level rather than drop to the incredibly weak aspire.

I also expected more from CC and company, but it’s fairly comical to see legacy VRSC families bashing them when, as disappointing as most of the GA teams have been, they’re light years ahead of where the U13-19 girls black teams were prior to his arrival. Those teams were playing NCSL, in some cases not even in the top divisions. The Rankings app currently has the GA teams between 82 and 318 nationally. Teams at that age playing in NCSL probably don’t touch 700, with most outside 1000.

But CC is not the reason...nor the FCV players that followed him

Results improved dramatically in the first season he and they were there. If they were not the reason, then what was?

Players came from other places as well.

lol. Those players aren’t any good. They are the cause of the loses against inferior teams. Cc contributed as well because he couldn’t see their lack of talent and promised them playing time they didn’t deserve.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Gus Donolo to the VRSC/LUFC family.

Hailing from Brazil, Gus brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep understanding of the game. He will be joining our Girls Academy coaching staff and will also be leading our USL Youth League.

We’re excited to have Gus on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make within our club and player pathway. Welcome, Gus!

Aside from his private coaching gig and reputation for playing favorites, what do people know about his coaching style?

Not recent history but my daughter had him as a HC on FCV GA. He was good to her because he liked her, but its no secret he plays favorites and selects those players to do 1:1 training with him. We did for years because it was convenient, and we did see an improvement in her game. But beware, if he does not like your player they will not only get zero playing time, he will degrade them in front of the team too. In terms of style he's more possession-based tiki taka, at least the last time we had him as a coach. It was one of the main reasons we left the mega club we started with for FCV. The DA program training was a cut above anything we have seen in recent years with my younger player.

What kind of player does he like? How do you become a favorite?

You pay him for private training

An unfortunate fact. $$$

Offseason or during the season?

Both.

Once you start you really can't stop as long as he's your kids coach #IYKYK

Not sure how that works in-season when the team trains four nights a week and has 1-2 games on the weekends.

He has the players come an hour early and charges for it.
