Were those messages posted by your family members?
The lengths Republicans go to handwave away the rank bigotry and hatred their own party foments never ceases to amaze.

I know you mean well but this is a very good example of privilege. My children are biracial so no I will not have them around family members who lie and say Jan 6 was BLM and antifa or that the proud boys and unite the right rally are good things. You dont love me or my partner or children if you support politicians/polices/lies that threaten their safety and deny them basic humanity. This is not an intellectual exercise for many people. These are our lives.
DP. My children are also biracial and the URM side of the family is MAGA (or at least Trump voters), largely due to religious beliefs.
Never had anything said or done that threatens their safety or denied their basic humanity.

Good lord. Them voting for the party that embraces and promotes racism and violence is the exact act that threatens their safety and denies them their basic humanity.

Oh well if it hasn't happened to your kids it couldn't possibly be different for anyone else.
You are unbelievably self-absorbed and also a jerk if you think your experience invalidates someone else's.

Are you the white parent? As a biracial woman myself, trust me when I tell you, your children have a different racial experience than you. They feel and notice things that you do not, that you cannot. And a time will likely come where they inform you that they have absolutely experienced racism from your MAGA family. And they will spend lots of money on therapy coming to terms with the fact that their own parent cared more about keeping the peace with these people than protecting them.

PP said it was the URM side of the family who is MAGA. PP says it’s based on religious beliefs so you can guess which URM they are talking about. So no the MAGA side isn’t being racist, they are the URMs!

Just stop with the myth of MAGA is racist. Tons of BIPOC people voted for trump. Latinx people voted for trump. Even LGTBQIA++ people support trump.
That doesn't mean that MAGA isn't racist. POC uphold racism all the time, just like women often uphold patriarchy.

Bingo.
It's not a myth. MAGA is racist. and sexist. and anti-gay. and demonizes all immigrants.
All they do is scapegoat.
