Fine. Send the whole school. Not just the few neighborhoods currently being told are going to SC.

Nope.

The part of Hunt Valley inside the parkway is less than 10 minutes to WSHS

Some of the HV houses are less than 2 miles to WSHS.

The shouldn’t be creating a new split feeder with HV and moving just part of HV to Lewis would create an attendance island.

Given the choice, the neighborhoods inside the parkway that are 10 minutes, 2-3 miles from WSHS would very much prefer a split feeder over getting rezoned in the name of "keeping Hunt Valley together."

They will be furious if the other neighborhoods near South County draw them into getting rezoned too.

Right now, they are going to Silverbroik > SoCo, correct?

That is not a bad option, especially for the neighborhood at the end of Gambril closest to SoCo. Their elementary, MS and HS will all be closer.

They will move all of HV to Lewis. And move the rest of Rolling Valley to WSHS.

It seems like this is one person quoting themselves repeatedly, trying to make fetch happen.

Of all the Hunt Valley options, Hunt Valley to Lewis makes the least sense.

Makes sense to move the rest of rolling valley to WSHS. Also makes sense to move to school farthest from WSHS out of there.

What makes the most sense is moving the Lewis zoned Rolling Valley neighborhoods all to Satatoga, so they can stay at Lewis and Key, don't have to get rezoned for middle school or high school.

If they move all those houses to WSHS, we will have a HUGE size increase at WSHS, more than even Daventry. It will end up being more students into WSHS than the Hunt Valley Gambrill neighborhoods moved out.

No matter what happens, not a single house should be moved into WSHS.

Yes there are some die hard posters on here since the beginning they said HV shouldn’t to Lewis.

Granted the “rumored” leaked maps did indicate that.

The ones that didn’t actually exist? Those maps?

How do you know? I believe they might exist.

My theory is Reid had her team maps based on what she wanted and then realized she needed to make it a process. So in comes Thru and this circus and then changes will be made and they will be what Reid wanted originally.

I have had this thought as well. The worst part is, the only thing that matters is the next round of maps. Which makes the process cruel for so many families.

If they end up screwing over other schools with new changes at this point the fury will be multiples more. It’s a shitty game of musical chairs.

Someone should honestly do a poll of deep blue Fairfax county to see where constituents are on boundary changes. I’d be surprised if it is more than 30% in support, and that includes constituents who believe that moving other peoples’ kids might benefit their own property values.

I suspect there’s an equal percentage of people who don’t care or neutral.

Yes but not to Lewis. Maybe SC.

I think there’s a hunt valley parent on here that is really scared. Perhaps they live in an area that used to be Lewis?

Or maybe they're living in the Daventry area, which until just a few years ago was districted to Lewis. And is now desperately trying to push HV out to stay there.
