What league did their top teams play in this past year?
Last years Bethesda’s u13 played MLSN and NAL. This year they have a team in MLSN, moved a good amount of their NAL team up to MLSN2, and left some of those kids and a new cohort added to form their NAL team so effectively their 3rd string.

Clubs like Bethesda had ECNL for their boys 2nd team
ECNL didn't like that they were 2nd fiddle to MLS Next
They told all MLS Next clubs they can't have ECNL as 2nd team
Clubs switched 2nd teams to NAL and other leagues around the country
That means the former original ecnl team is now the MLS Next 2 team

Anonymous wrote:Clubs that previously had NAL and MLSN are adding MLSN2 as tier two. That makes NAL tier three. There are some weaker clubs that were just given NAL and MLSN2 pathways and at those clubs NAL may be top or 2 may be top but that’s only because they don’t have the highest tier available to them yet. The correct order is still. MLSN, MLSN2, NAL. ECNL is below those and that places ECRL at the bottom and EDP below it still with MSI and SAM below those and whatever the rec and travel options are in VA.
You don’t like it? Ya can’t change it.
At some clubs NAL is top but in reality it is third.
A ton of new clubs got NAL and MLSN2 but that’s only because ECNL has made it too high of a barrier to entry and MLSN is obsessed with obliterating them and this is how they’re going to do .
You don’t like it? You still can’t change it!!!
