Prior to Covid, you would have needed to pass patent agent exam and be a gs12. They should bring back that requirement or make it gs14 only..

They are also closing the Denver RO that was statutorily mandated. And part of the reason was the robust TW program at PTO and not needing physical space. The irony.

What are the positions of the RIFed nonexaminers? HR? IT? Policy attorneys? Are they in the headquater?

Are these positions that are fee funded? What is the justification for this RIF?

Everything is fee funded at the pto. We are open based on prior years reserves and have money for months. To focus on core competencies allegedly.

Did they follow out the RIF process and have seniority and veterans preference, did they close a whole division of what PTO does?

It used to be all offices we fit to inside and one in the windows. But realistically, you could easily fit 3-4 to an office.
There were no cubes to speak of when we were there. Maybe five or six per floor. But who knows what they've done with it in the meantime.

The HVAC.... So long as frigid is your preferred temperature, then you'll be fine. Summer winter doesn't matter. It's freezing, people wear coats and winter hats during winter.

Freezing is better than the other way around! Thanks.

My office was 78 yesterday. Awful.
