Protesters were being arrested for ignoring social distancing rules. Again, this was a matter of local law enforcement so not sure what it has to do with this thread. This is also something that was happening around the world and not just in the US.

Yes, people were fined and arrested for ignoring public rules during an emergency. As they should have been, IMO. These happened at a local level so not sure how that applies here. Beside the point, but most happened during the Trump administration since that is when restrictions were tightest. This is also something that was happening around the world and not unique to the US.
And yes, you could legally get fired from your job for not getting vaccinated unless you had an exemption or agreed to an alternative such as regular testing. It was a breach of workplace policy.

I agree we should have let people refuse vaccination, BUT
then hospitals should have been allowed to refuse treatment.
Unvaccinated aholes were clogging the healthcare system. I wish they had allowed them to recuperate with ivermectin at home and let the chips fall.
They should have been allowed to FAandFO.
People didn’t want to be protected by the nanny state, and that’s fine. They should have been allowed to live as they wished and suffer the consequences.

It absolutely does infringe on human rights. Only out of touch privileged people believe this.
And the Supreme Court disagrees with you fyi. Only industry is healthcare that employers can force vaccines on their employees.

No one said it was so egregious that people were thrown in jail, but it was coercion from the government that the average person found to be overbearing and intrusive. We have all kinds of laws around protecting workers from exploitative employers.
To come down heavy handed on people with demands to "follow the science" when thr science was constantly evolving was destructive.
