It looks like between 2002-2004 Ben was going back and forth between these two, sleeping with both, while they were both cheating on/ditching their own partners to accommodate him.

I can't believe JLO went back to this mess, but I guess she wanted to seize the opportunity to show the world that Ben wanted her more than the woman he married.

Btw, John Miller reminds me of Vartan. Not as attractive but kind of similar type.

Garner is messed up too, perhaps less so than Jen and Ben. She let her longterm stable relationship fall apart to bolster her ex husband who cheated on her and left their family.

According to In Touch, not the most reliable of sources. The most consistent thing about Jen G is that she is really devoted to her kids. She knows that Ben’s sobriety is a huge positive for her kids, one of whom is just 12. She has put up with a ton (that drive through photo- legendary), and no doubt sacrificed opportunities personal and professional *for her kids’ dad*

I don’t think Jen G wants to be with Ben romantically, but she’s definitely very committed to supporting his well being.

I doubt we will get much information and it’s going to be a boring divorce, which is great for them but not so much for gossip. If we have to go back and fight about 2002 it seems pretty silly.

It gets even funnier than this. On the movie Jersey Girl, J Los role is cut in half after the Gigli debacle and in Electra, the follow up to Daredevil from 2004, Garner and Afflecks role are reduced after studio heads realized they were dating in fear of another Gigli.

I will say the Gigli commercial and critical failure was a huge surprise to the industry. J Lo had broken box office records with Maid in Manhattan from December 2002. She was seemingly on top of Hwood but Gigli essentially got her blacklisted.

Once she returns from the flop of Gigli and Jersey Girl, her comeback movie is Monster in Law with Michael Vartan (Garner’s ex) playing her fiancée. Of all the movies she could’ve chosen, she selects one with Vartan. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

Vartan was just a placeholder after Ben went public with and later proposed to Lopez. After the filming of Daredevil in mid 2002, Garner and Ben parted ways. By July, Lopez was public with Affleck after the June divorce from Judd.

I think with movie stars, they tend to sleep with costars and it’s not a big deal. Angie and Brad did it and many others have too. Gigli was shot in December 2001. Jennifer was still a newlywed to Judd at this time and already wanted out and to be with Ben. Judd’s dad said “ went missing” during the holidays and New Years and told him she was working. Judd had to spend the holidays with his family alone as a newlywed

Maybe she jumped on Vartan the way Lopez jumped on Anthony when Ben left her for JG?

Didn’t Bennifer 1.0 implode because he cheated on her with a bunch of strippers in Canada? Reports leaked right before their wedding was abruptly called off. Then they dragged their feet for a few months before admitting they split, just like now.

Yes. She still wanted the wedding to go on after finding out he cheated. She didn’t dump him. He dumped her. I think when she wouldn’t break up with him even after the cheating that’s when he truly figured out she was nuts and cared about the appearance of things and “wedding of the century” as her PR was calling it

Interesting take. I see it as a measure of how absolutely hooked on him she was (is?). She was willing to justify his dalliances and still marry him. Love goggles. This wasn't just PR motivated.

All parties involved are too old to still be bitter over a love triangle from 20 years ago. It’s obvious both Jens always called the paps whenever either were together with Ben’s mom. I’m going to reason his single mother is largely the reason Ben is very spoiled and immature as well.
