The lab leak is the most plausible - for lots of reasons. The fundamental problem is that mainland China can't be trusted. We see that every day - from selling fake titanium to Boeing and Airbus to the cheating among mainland Chinese students at American universities. And everything in between. No academic paper is ever taken seriously from mainland China. Do not underestimate how much damage the Cultural Revolution did to that country.

We overlook China's human rights abuses because of the economy and they own our debt.
