You’ll probably be flamed for this PP because that’s not an exceptional CogAt.
But don’t listen to anyone. We did a WISC for DC who had a 114 and DC got in. This was at a local level IV four years ago.
I had another friend whose DC was principal placed into the class for three years in a row. They re-applied to county all three years and finally got in officially on the fourth year just in time for middle school.
I know people hate this, but it’s worth applying for the peer grouping benefits, so keep at it. I didn’t find that the curriculum itself was all that innovative. But what kids can learn and accomplish alongside motivated students whose teacher has high expectations for the entire class is a noticeable difference. There is a whole body of research on this.
