The MCPS Leadership Development Program (which Monifa was once part of) has been out of step for a long time. Training school leaders demands research-based methods and skilled trainers. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

That's an awful thing to say! The schools need leadership. But hopefully the system gains a better understanding that most of candidates need more than the training they currently possess. I don't know how they will rectify the problem - the current program isn't producing the results needed to serve effectively. Our students, staff and families deserve better.

More than I've seen in 20 years. Staff of all levels want out of the craziness.

Where are they going?

Retirement and other jobs.

Or other counties, even. We're about to see some low-rate administrators get appointed over the coming months.

When they don't have at least 3 viable candidates, they readvertise or extend the posting.

They might want to put someone there who isn't able to apply yet given other moving and potentially moving parts.
