This is compared to basketball courts that are empty all day long, are used by fewer people, and provide no ability to charge any extra fees.
I’ve not seen any fees. Are they going to start charging ? Mine doesn’t even offer classes or clinics. So you have to know how to play already then you go to open play.

The basketball courts are heavily used at our Lifetime. There were two. One is now pickleball all the time. The other court there are always people waiting to play. I am sure they will make more money off the pickleball, but a lot of people will still be unhappy that major amenities are simply being taken away and they are being asked to pay more AND drive somewhere else.

Older people have the time and the money. The American population is aging.
That was kind of what happened during Covid, right? My mom was allowed to work out at her senior center but my kid was doing virtual school. When the 50+ age group is in charge, it shouldn’t be a surprise. I’m one of those people posting on the real estate thread about our pricey SFH neighborhood in a great school zone getting snapped up by relocating boomers. They’re the same ones voting down our school levies and converting all the programming at our local community center to senior stuff. Bc fixed income. Except it’s fixed at a super high level.
Our whole generation of kids are going to get screwed over by the hordes of selfish old people. Remember when the elderly used to believe in putting kids first?
