I hate to think what I would have chosen at age 18.

Funny. I go to a yoga studio where 95% of the regulars have tattoos, many of them significant body art.

People here are rule followers desperately hoping to be taken for old money. They do not represent the vast majority of people.

Sorry, but the vast majority of people don't view tattoos as "art." Colorful, detailed, creepy, and tacky -- yes.

Love me a tramp stamp. Tells me she’s easy.

I’m around a lot of athletic types—cyclists, runners, rock climbers, etc. and I notice that a majority of them have significant tattoos—sleeves or large tattoos. They are generally affluent millennials in professional jobs. They look good on their athletic bodies and are high quality. I don’t have any myself because but am tempted to get one. I am in a professional front facing job and very fit. I can never figure out what I want to get though and I’m in my mid-50’s so maybe that ship has sailed.

They probably do represent the vast majority of people with money, though.

I interact with people across many different economic classes.

Tattoos are generally uncommon and looked down upon by the affluent.

Tattoos are much more common and viewed more positively by low to middle income.

It’s sort of like the long duck dynasty beard thing—you see them on lots of working class folk but you won’t see any at the country club.

Not passing judgment one way or the other, just my observation on how different economic strata have different views.

I don't think they make a person more or less attractive. I think it just looks like the person got a tattoo.

I know people who seem to think a tattoo makes a person more "alluring." I don't agree.

Common. Trailer park trash.

Some people can pull it off. Most cannot.

And regardless of quality or appearance or shape, it looks awful on anyone over 35. There is nothing sadder than a 50+ y/o who gets a "meaningful" tattoo.

And, no, it is not "art" but vanity.

Trashy, but some people can pull it off. Not most average people.

I always had a neutral opinion of them, but I'm single now and have noticed that I automatically swipe left on the men who have tats. I guess my opinion isn't as neutral as I'd thought.
