Out of how many cars total moving across the country this week? If there's like 100 then that's terrible. If there are more like 1 million, then nobody's perfect.
But, in general, we need to raise taxes and spend a good chunk of them improving our infrastructure -- rail included. Our rail system is old and unloved. Go to other countries, and you'll marvel at how much better their rail facilities are.

The Obama-era law that everyone is harping about would not have applied here. That is what the NTSB chairperson is saying.
What Republican rule would have applied or helped in any way? None.
