Diana was not gorgeous unless standing next to other royals specially mid that time. It is funny you think Charles has no depth because he should pick Diana based on her looks and looks alone. You and I do not know the personality of Camilla or Diana. Though Diana always came off as naive and doe-eyed. She was very young, much younger vs Charles.

You can be beautiful with a personality, and not attractive in the eyes of someone. I think by now it is obvious that they were completely wrong for each other, with different interests, likes, hobbies and intellectual depths.

What I'm saying is that many of Diana's lovers were married. And considering how much rage DCUM usually directs at the "other women", somehow the pain Diana inflicted on wives of her lovers doesn't seem to count because what? because she was wronged first? Why does that matter?

I don't think you understand that in that time, a woman who left her husband would have never been given custody. She tried to see her children afterwards but wasn't allowed. I think you're overlooking the fact that Diana has been aiming to marry well her entire young life. She may have been in love with Charles, yes, but she was very much in love with the idea of being a princess and then a queen. Why do you think they nicknamed her Duch?

This. What turned me around on the whole Charles/Camilla pairing was seeing the way they are together. You can clearly tell that they love each other and are completely comfortable together. Was the way it came about ideal, absolutely not, but at the end of the day you want people to be with the person they love unconditionally for who they are, not the glamour or clout they bring to the relationship.

They had total disregard for their spouses, children, queen, country, etc. Two selfish people. Charles should have had to give up the crown like his uncle. If he really loved her, he would have. Instead they changed the constitution so he could be king. Many in England will never give him respect or Camilla. They don’t deserve it.

Disregard for spouses and children, yes, but queen and country, come on. We don’t need to pretend that the current standards need to be the same as they were in 1936. This is where the monarchy seems ridiculous to those of us not in the UK, Charles shouldn’t have been directed to choose someone more “suitable” than Camilla to begin with, and while royal scandals certainly feed the news cycle it has no impact on the functioning of the country itself just like Ben/JLo or the Brad/Angelina drama don’t impact the the US government.

Diana really wasn’t that pretty.
Compared to Charles, sure.
Her youth and his looks made people think she was pretty.

+1. I feel bad for Diana because she clearly had a hard family situation growing up then a doomed marriage. Plus she dealt with mental health issues. I was predisposed to dislike Camilla, but now it's so clear that Charles and Camilla have a deep love and respect for each other. Love isn't picking the hottest person you can get.

I also think Diana would have been a very difficult person to be married to. It's very sad that Harry has had similar mental health issues and struggled his whole life. He's never seemed to have a steady, grounded relationship and just seems perpetually adrift in life. Mental health issues from both of his parents' sides of the family - remember Princess Margaret?

My husband is not the most physically attractive person I ever dated. But I am very happily married for over 18 years. It’s all about deep personal connection, shared interests and values. Charles and Diana had almost nothing in common.
