50 cent is from NYC. Mary is too, for the record.Anonymous wrote:How come no East Coast rappers?

His wife beat a woman senseless and ruined her career?
Dee Barnes is her name.
This is what Dre has said about that incident:
... There is absolutely no excuse for it. No woman should ever be treated this way. Any man that puts his hands on a female is a f%cking idiot. He is out of his f%cking mind and I was out of my f%cking mind at the time. I f%cked up. I paid for it. I'm sorry for it and I apologized for it. I have this dark cloud that follows me and it's gonna be attached to me forever. It's a major blemish on who I am as a man. And every time it comes up, it just makes me feel f%cked up. So it's just like, what do I do? What do I do to get rid of this dark cloud? I don't know what else to do. I'm learning. I'm trying to become a better person, become a better man. In the end, I've hurt people that I care about. And for that, I'm really sorry.
+1 , Real Love was her first hit song, but Family Affair was the bigger hit and it was the song that really put her on the map. She has said that Family Affair is when she realized she made it to the next level of success. Dre produced that song and also has writing credits on the song.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I thought it was fantastic. X1000. Altho this site isnât the demographics for those artists.
Lol.
Iâm 47.
These songs are part of the soundtrack from my prime.
But they donât lend themselves to a super bowl show. Too bad Mary J didnât sing one of her hits.
You just proved the point by not getting Family Affair is one of her biggest hits.
I know it was a hit.
But Real Love was the bigger hit. And more fun. The beat definitely would have been better for a dance performance.
You literally wrote âtoo bad she didnât sing one of her hitsââŚ
She did sing one of her biggest hits. And a way better dance song than Real Love.

It was like they just rounded up a bunch of folks from a retirement home and put them on stage. Kendrick managed to put some life into his set, but the rest left a lot to be desired. I thought maybe theyâre just too old, but remembered Jennifer Lopez was over 50 during her halftime show last year and was full of energy.
Snoop brought all the energy, even though he was fully baked. His blue track suit may or may not have been a nod to the Crips.
Snoop is always fully baked!

He's from LA. It was a nod to LA RAMS. GMAFB
It was a blue bandana pattern outfit. The Rams are blue and yellow stripes. Snoop is a Raiders fan.
Snoop is a STEELERS fan.
+1
Loved the show! Every single minute of it. Usually,IMO, the half-time shows are total cringe.

Is this a real question?
50 is from NY
It doesnât matter. He and Em were signed by Dre. Everyone knows about East West history.
I don't believe that's common knowledge. Dcum isn't the place for rap scholars, ya know?
Seriously? It's common knowledge. You don't have to be a rap scholar to know about East West history.
Youâre on DCUM. Where these posters really think they represent actual society. This is a bubble.
This is not something obscure. I'll bet more people know that Biggie and Tupac were killed as part of the East/West rap beef than know that John Hinkley Jr. shot Reagan.
+1. No lies told.

I think this is correct. I don't particularly mind, since I love all the music, but I was a little surprised by how much this looked like an homage to Dre.
What did you expect? These are all artists that Dre has signed. of course this was the dre show. He was the first to sign Snoop. Mary J-Family Affair. He discovered Eminem and 50 cent. Kendrick is signed to his label.
