You know unvaccinated APS teachers? None of this makes sense of they're vaccinated.
Not the PP but my understanding of the quarantine policy is that you have to quarantine and test as a close contact if you have COVID symptoms, regardless of whether you’re vaccinated. If you are a close contact, vaccinated but have no symptoms, you don’t have to quarantine. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong. But in that scenario, a vaccinated teacher identified as a close contact would still quarantine and test if they report symptoms.

There are situations in which vaccinated teachers are unmasked and a close contact to an unmasked child. In this case they do have to test. Vaccine exemption is only if you are masked and the other person is masked as well.
Besides, you should be provided with health info about students. Are you being told the name of the close contact? Students certainly aren't.

Are you referring to isolation rules for an asymptomatic person who tests positive?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:No, they backtracked on implementing the new quarantine rules. Duran reported that less than 50% of staff are available for in person instruction. What's up with those other 40%? Is it just teachers refusing to come in? If so, teachers should be charged their PTO days for days they say they'll be out if APS can't open because of teacher absences.
Thats only who reports to qualtrics. Did you check close contacts? Also how far back did you go?
Close contacts aren't an issue if you're vaccinated per APS policy and all teachers should be vaccinated.
All teacher should be reporting their positive cases in qualtrics. That's how APS is keeping data.
The 10 day teacher positive graphs are on AEM. Look there.
ASYMPTOMATIC close contacts don’t have to quarantine if they are vaccinated. My guess is that a lot
of staff are showing symptoms, which requires them to stay home.
Share the data.
We also have people out because they have other medical conditions. Some who got stuck traveling. Some had pre-approved personal leave. Those absences aren’t shown in the COVID dashboard.

Remember- the new quarantine rules went into effect 1/3. So- that’s what did it. People on 1/1, for example, still had to quarantine. Should be better now.
Shoot! Well there goes that! It’s hard to keep up.
