No person alive has ever referred to their mom’s cousin that way. Or their own cousin. Or any cousin.
Thank you. Shows do this all the time and it is so irritating: "I'm just waiting for my daughter Ann to get home." "You'd have to ask my husband, John."

Jack had an incredibly painful childhood and much of how he tried so hard to be a good father came from those experiences. We never did learn what happen to his mom once he helped her move out, so I think it's nice that they tied up her story. It was so very said, especially at the church when he notes that they had both tried hard to carve out new lives for themselves. And then the very end, of course, when he tells Rebecca he doesn't have a mother anymore. That gutted me. I think it was an important episode.
That said, I hope they don't have anything like that with Rebecca's parents. We (the audience) were never invested in those characters and we really don't need to learn about them now.

I missed this as well!
Very beginning of the episode where she goes to Boston, Randall says something about going to study with a friend, maybe named Carol, for the whole weekend. He mentions the girls name but I forgot it. So she lied to him. But I am curious why he didn’t confirm with friends parents she was going there.
Close.
Randall says to Deja "So you and Tish/Trish/Tiff (?) going to be studying all weekend?" and Deja says something like "mmm hmmm" (agreeing sort of).
It was part of the "previously on TIS" at the beginning of the current episode as well. Deja implied that she was hanging out with a female friend.

Better Madison than Cassidy, but I’m still pulling for Sophie.

And he addresses her to her face as “cousin Debbie”? That’s really weird.
