Why am I only reading about this when it comes to CYA?
most AAU teams I have seen around here are run by black guys, so not so much with the racism.
Anonymous wrote:So the gist of the last 17 pages: CYA has bad coaches and is run by a bunch of racists, and picks their teams based on criteria other than basketball skill.

I think my son's team played your team this weekend. My son and several of his teammates play together on an AAU team. Your coach (that young guy) was a nightmare and really hard on the kids. If his team doesn't know how to break a press, that's on him and his coaching. Its too bad because there was definitely some talent on your son's team, its just so obviously a group of kids who have only played rec. And frankly, too small a team size-wise to compete in D1. Hope the rest of the season goes better!
When we were coming in for our son's game this weekend, the 20-something 5th grade CYA coach was being very nasty talking to his team after the game. Even my oblivious teenager commented on it. Poor kids looked like their dogs just died. It's not right to talk to 9/10 year olds like that.
My kid didn't make that team! Dodged a bullet!

It doesn’t matter if a coach loses his temper. The players on his team shouldn’t have to suffer for a mistake a coach made earlier in the year. I understand they may not have wanted the guys team to win, but to me it’s just unacceptable for board members and refs to cheat a team, especially when the players children.
How did the board member following the coach around to watch his game cheat the team? Are you saying the board member signed up to ref all this coaches games and then called the games to cheat his team?

CYA has a long history of that. The current basketball board over has a few card carrying white supremacists. Investigate them if you are so curious and you will find what your looking for.
Why don't you provide the proof since you are the one making crazy accusations?
What type of proof do you want? It’s a fact that CYA is known for this. You seem kind of defensive.
I just happened to read a post about a guy who pulled his kid from CYA and I happen to know of multiple people in the basketball community who have done the same thing to get away from the bs that goes on over there. My son goes to school with these kids, plays sports, and is friends with them. I’m just just sharing what I know and contributing facts to the thread.
McLean travel is no dynasty losing 2 of 3 games in a league that isn’t even AAU.
No offense but you're actually not sharing "what you know and contributing facts". Still no mention of any specific examples of what you've seen. Don't have any dog in this fight but you can't blame an entire organization and just say they're "known for this"... More specific proof points helpful if you're trying to convince others issue truly exists...
And those other threads were mainly complaining about referees making calls in favor of certain teams - doesn't have much to do with organization or coaches...
