You have DI,II, and III in college sports and the MIAA has an A, B, and C conference.
The MIAA does it right to some extent. Though it does have its issues - see St. Francis with football. But, it allows schools to compete at the correct level for specific sports. Some schools like CHC and MSJ compete at the A level for all sports - as they should because they are the biggest schools. Other schools take a more targeted approach like Gilman. It then allows small schools to compete - like Friends.
But, it also allows for schools to move up and down over the years as the school changes and the demographics change. When I was growing up Spalding was a sports farce. They were awful at everything. But, 25 years later they are a sports powerhouse and I think have all of their sports in the A division of the MIAA.
This is generally the right answer is to merger IAC, WCAC, and any other private school into one conference this would allow GP to compete at a certain level in some sports like lax, baseball and other sports at a high level and then not all sports for others. And if Lax wanted to go off and do some type of Culver type schedule - they can do that.
It would take alot of work and someone with vision and charisma to pull it off, but that's the right answer.
Gilman does not take a targeted approach, the only sport they are in the “B” conference for is ice hockey. Boys Latin and Saint Paul’s, on the other hand, mostly play in the B conference with the notable exception of lacrosse. All three are on the smaller side, as is Mcdonogh, which also plays A for most everything.
Agree however that some of the Catholic schools are huge, and this is an advantage for them in sports. It does lead to a different experience as three season varsity athletes are much more common at a Gilman or Mcdonogh than Calvert Hall.
Worth noting that boarding really hasn’t had much of an impact on A conference lacrosse.

1. Prep - Won year end tourny. Lost to Bullis by one in reg season. Deepest/best talent. Great first year by Hilgy. They’ll be better next year.
2. Bullis - Won reg. season going undefeated. Also beat Haverford, Spalding, GC and Gonzaga. Yes, lost to STa in OT in tourny, but I chalk that up to a bad day.
3. STA - Up and coming program. Lots of young talent. Got better as year went along and I think program on rise and will challenge Prep next year. And yes, I know they beat Bullis in the tourny. They also lost to them the week before.
4. Landon - Avg year for the Bears. Not a noteworthy win, although they played Culver tough and pushed Prep a ton. Didn’t have normal grit across the field. Should be better next year.
5. Episcopal - Cabell is going to Cabell, but they still don’t have the talent. They’ll play hard and physical, but they have essentially a brand less style of play.
6. SSSA - What are we doing??
POY - Han- Prep - Won tourny (even if he wasn’t best player on field that day). Target of defenses all year, and still put up points. 5 star.
Runner- Up- Kuehl - Bullis - Hat trick against STa was the norm all year.
DPOY - Greene - STA, Wade - Bullis, McGlone- Prep… pick’em

I’ll go with PVI as a one goal favorite
Should be a classic
PVI in a rout. SJC’s stars on paper seem exactly the type to go directly into cruise control after finally winning an important game (for most of this roster, it’s the first time that’s happened in their HS careers). They’ll believe their parents press clippings again, and it won’t be pretty.
⬆️
Wow, this is a pretty pathetically bitter and sad person

College lax goes to school 2 weeks earlier than a regular student to practice for fall ball.
