Awful. Two more weeks of low temps with only a day or two above freezing. It may very well be March before we see games.

With the weather, we might not even have a season. At the HS age we have not had a single league game yet. And I don’t see the ones this weekend happening either.

This timing seems a huge disadvantage for BSC & MD players, especially those tied to VA? The season hasn't started yet to assess whether they like it or want to stay or not; yet ID tryouts for the next year are already happening.

I think it's the same arms race we see every year; more pressure, starts earlier, ends later, more costs, more tournaments, more futsal, private training, U10 playing 9v9, U12 playing 11v11. It's January, the season is barely half over and clubs like SYC are already trying to lock players in for next season. I actually like that Bethesda moves a little slower. We don't need to know the coaches for 26-27 yet, you're either interested in the club or not, the coach will change every year or even mid-year.

It can be. I have a boy on a top ECNL team. He would like to move to MLSN HD but I really really don’t like the coaches for his age group next year at the club closest to us (Bethesda). Unless there is a shakeup I will leave him where he is because the development is incredible. We are in DC near MD but very happy with the ECNL leadership and development at our club (can’t say which one). I am not a fan of the Achilles coaching style so it’s not a fit for us. It would not work for my player.

On the Boys side does anyone think ECNL is better than MLSNext for development and exposure?

Is BSC doing ID tryouts in early Feb too, like all the other clubs?

At recruiting, not developing

Does BSC care about development over the end result which is the college placement? If VDA has begun to exceed BSC in this category, all that matters is perception.

Loudoun United is affiliated with VRSC. Loudoun YOUTH is affiliated with NVA.

Competing with U-12 girls in futsal (often getting bodied off the ball and losing, but still able to move the ball around) and recently played futsal against SAC/Armour Pre MLS Next and dominated. Boys are happy, look forward to practices, and enjoying the game.

No one should be particularly impressed by this. Young SAC/BA is one of the worst run programs around. Just about raking cash.

Agree with the positives on TM at BSC.

NVA is not affiliated with Loudoun United.
