+1 I have a friend who grew up in a really conservative community, she went to college and while she remains personally conservative (in the traditional sense, not the political one), she votes exclusively for Democrats now. As she puts it, “I grew up and experienced the world and my worldview is bigger than theirs is now.” She can’t hate on gay people or immigrants or Black people anymore.
