Damned straight, Tim. This is why people like him & not the that freak, Vance.

The fed gov is supposed to be protecting our borders and funding and training our military. That’s its number one priority.

Republicans really screwed us by refusing to move on the border bill. Dereliction of duty.

I enjoy it when Trump loses the plot. He said Shapiro would have been a bad pick, he's a terrible guy and generally disliked. Guess he forgot he's supposed to stick to the "antisemitism" and "Comrade Tim" talking points.

Sounds good on the surface, if you are fine with increased taxes, increased gas and electricity prices, increased crowding of cities and schools. A huge no for many.

I am actually ok with increasing taxes in the short term to pay for a healthier country in the long term.

I am a wealthy person who understands the concept of investment- the money we pay now can reap dividends later.

Children who are poorly educated and underfed cost a LOT of money pp, they just cost money later when they are unable to find good jobs or their developmental delays from lack of food causes them to have problems adjusting to and being productive members of society.

Even parental leave- the first year of a baby’s life is absolutely pivotal to their health, mental well being, and intellectual development for the rest of their lives. The more time babies get to spend with their moms, the smarter and healthier a society we will have.

+1 The Republican alternative is to force women to have babies they can't afford or who will have severe lifetime disabilities and then leave them to figure it out with zero social support. Yeah, that sounds like a great solution for a healthy society. But the billionaires get tax breaks so it's all good, right?

And yet the GOP opposes border legislation, even the one it crafts, to be political and performative.

How about we do both? It's not a small government.

Or, you know, try to roll a little back to the tax structure of the 1980s for businesses and individuals, instead of Trump's balloon payout to the wealthy that comes to fruit in 2025.

Productivity is up, corporate profits are up, and wages have been stagnant for a long time.

I’m voting down ballot and leaving the top of the ticket blank or writing in Biden, so I have no horse in this race, but the whole chest clutching, guffawing thing comes off as really fake and performative to me. Sorry.

imagine throwing your vote away when one of the candidates (in a very close election) who could win is openly admitting he wants power so he can be a dictator.

imagine throwing your own vote away when the same candidate who expressed publicly that he'd like to be a dictator with no impunity for anything he does congratulates putin (and not our own president biden) for the prisoner swap deal because he admires putin more and also says he admires the president of north korea - more than our democratic president. I will vote with every inch of my life to prevent trump from seizing power a second time.

democracy and freedom are worth walking through fire for. the alternative to democracy is unimaginable but there are many examples to study all over the world if you read history - and it can and will happen here IF trump wins again.

think about that carefully between now and november. all politicians are a bit performative. but a would-be dictator is on another level.

Cities are going to get more crowded because that is how human development and urbansim and opportunity evolve in the post Industrial era.

So the question is, how to we make life affordable and have opportunity in a growing population?

The GOP solution seems to be putting up barriers to affordability, receding from the global community and catering to the oligarchs while working stiffs are simply chattel.

That is why the democrats continue to broaden their base.

A lot of people grow up in rural areas, go to a regional or state university and get exposed to all sorts of people from different walks of like, different cultures and different countries. For some, that is inspiring. Those people will likely stay in more urban areas or migrate to other states and populate post graduate destinations - NY, SF, DC, boston, Chicago etc. Others don't like that life and will head back to wherever they came from. But either way, it is the cities where the GDP growth and innovation take place. And it is the cities that are subsidizing the rural areas. No, most of the food grown in the US is exported or converted to high fructose corn syrup or other processed food products. There is plenty of food grown in each state to support the cities.

The sooner we can come together and find commonality on things like connectivity, child care job training, job creation etc, the sooner we can move on from MAGA and destructive politics.

So the Republican plan is to force birth and, at this point, the babies can pull themselves up by their bootstraps. And they wonder why polls are reversing.

I've said this before: people who don't vote for one of the two main candidates are making a statement only to themselves. This literally helps nothing. In the race before us, there is a clearly better choice and whatever your reason for "writing in Biden," it will not be advanced by doing so.

+1 but Trump thanks you for the assist.

These kind of people are self-important drama queens. PP was just using it as an opportunity to take a dig at Walz. It’s just an inauthentic post.
