LOL, true. I appreciate they're showing middle-age ladies with healthy sex drives but this was unexpected. But despite her best efforts, she has zero chemistry with Che and it's uncomfortable to watch.
For the life of me, I don't understand why they didn't pair Miranda with Nya. That would have made far more sense in terms of general compatibility. I understand wanting to introduce a non-binary character/love interest but forcing it in the absence of chemistry doesn't do anyone any favors.
Oh I like the Nya Miranda pairing! That would be hot.
But I also like Nya’s arc as it is. She’s a fantastic character and I love the actress.
Agree, Karen Pittman is a gem
Thank you. I was pre-coffee when I posted and did not look up her name. I appreciate your adding it to the conversation. Karen Pittman!

That scene was actually sort of funny - but sort of horrible.
I am up for a story about a woman, who heading toward 60, suddenly tosses aside her whole life to pursue something new that seems urgent and authentic to her. I feel like usually we get men's stories about doing that - and it's sort of refreshing to see a woman flail through this, as she makes mistakes, and acts horribly, and tries to figure out who she is and what she wants at this stage of her life.
She didn't want to sit on the couch and eat ice cream with the comfortable partner anymore - I think we can all understand that. And now she's making a mess of things while seeing what she does want.
There is something so acutely painful about watching her do it. It might be a testament to CN's acting - or to the extreme awkwardness of the writing. I guess that's what I am never sure of here - if the show wants us to feel mortified and awkward through this, or if that's accidental. I hope it's intentional. I hope that Miranda has a real arc here. (I hope to gd it's not with Che.)

I think SJP's hair looks amazing, the best it's ever looked. Cynthia Nixon's hair is a lighter shade of red, and suits her just fine. So much better than the gray. Kristen Davis's hair should be lightened, a little too dark and harsh-looking for her fair skin.
The hair looks great …it just doesn’t match their faces and looks ridiculous on them.
They're aging. What do you want them to have, granny hair? I agree Kristin's hair is a bit dark but otherwise they all look great.

I think the implication that she caused that was a joke. I am annoyed that in all the discussion of her refusing to read the ad no one mentioned that those products are always BS and sometimes harmful, though. Seems like a wasted opportunity.

The show could be great but Michael Patrick King is a terrible writer of women. I wish they had more female writers like they did on the original show.
