What typo are you referencing? She says Fox Mill Woods neighborhood should go to Crossfield/Hughes/South Lakes. She doesn't say anything about the other parts of Crossfield. But interesting that she wants all of Fox Mill Elementary to go to Hughes it sounds like? She must know that a lot of school board members view Carson as a logical feeder to Western and wants Fox Mill out of that equation.

I think it's going to come down to either Crossfield or Lees Corner attending Western. Crossfield has gotten a head start on Lees Corner in terms of fighting the change. When are they supposed to show us a finalized Option E and whatever other options being considered?

It's interesting, more of Crossfield is in her district than just Fox Mill Woods but it seems to be the only neighborhood she cares about.

The others in Hunter Mill (besides Fox Mill Woods)from Crossfield attend Oakton. I don't see her splitting them off from the other Oakton families, but now would be the time to do it. Some of the most vocal RIO are from Hunter Mill. Wouldn't that be ironic?
Floris is split between Hunter Mill and Sully.

Maybe RIO gets what they want and Crossfield backfills Franklin. I am sure some Oak Hill people would not be happy; some can walk to Franklin.

Nope. they're going to leave Franklin empty until 2027 when Navy AAP kids go back there (good riddance, they are the worst behaved kids at Carson).

Or, she could make the rational decision based on facts.

I agree, but who knows what they are cooking up. Question: for other FCPS high schools that have a middle school right next door, do any of the middle school students NOT attend that high school?

Why wouldnt she?

Kinda funny that the RIO moms were prominently featured in photos of a meeting with her and now she is silent on where she thinks Crossfield (outside of FMW) should go to high school. Almost like she doesn't want to stick her neck out for them.

With such a small percentage of Crossfield feeding into Oakton in her district, she probably thinks it’s most appropriate for Dixit to give her recommendation.

Dixit has a tough choice to make between Lees Corner and Crossfield parents being mad at her.

As the SLHS Mom who posts once a day, I am going to make a second post.

I hope the school board ignores Meren’s request and moves Fox Mill. I don’t think they will but I hope they do.

It makes sense. Especially if they are following the IB model. Parents have complained on here about the counselors at Carson not preparing the kids for the IB diploma.

Also, they are likely planning to send Oak Hill to Carson to make the Western school a true pyramid.

+1

They have so many things going on that the planning is atrocious across the entire county. They are considering last minute changes in the county-wide review that would create new, awkward split feeders. I wouldn’t count on them cleaning up the feeders to Western, either.

Most of Folkstone and all of Franklin Farm are in Sully. Pretty sure it is well more than half of non-Fox Mill Woods. Meren could suggest that all of Crossfield Hunter Mill go to South Lakes. I don't think she will do that.
