Not so in our experience - blue was for top players from both.

Not accurate.

1 in 12 men are colorblind. 6 male coaches out there are evaluating talent. You do the math. The pinnie color means nothing.

Let’s get back to the topic!

There is definitely a coordination prior to the try out at least for the HS girls. The colors doesn’t seem to make sense as the stronger ones are mixed with the less desired ones. There are 3 coaches for each team in which I think it’s just for show so that parents or kids aren’t going to panic. However, at try out , the Head coach makes it known that he is the head coach almost like I’m the new boss in town and you better pay attention to me kind of like a jackass move but that’s another discussion.

Still waiting on when are offers or rejections are coming. Need a Plan B if A doesn’t work out and all other ECNL clubs around are already having the ID sessions .

I’d be interested on what you all think the next best club/league to look into and why

100% The older group had it so late in the evening as well. Doubling up school HS Training and club try out same nights! AND the possibility of being cut! SHIT SHOW!!!

Give it a break. Clubs don’t give a crap about HS sports and, IMO, shouldn’t. Club sports is what gets you into college for soccer.

Comments like this just show you how ignorant parents are to what players want. HS soccer is the one chance that most of these players will ever get to play in front of their friends and take pride in playing for their school. Most of these "elite" players will never play college soccer or pro which has a similar experience. HS soccer is an experience most players love regardless of the level of play. Playing club soccer with screaming annoying parents on the sideline will never be more enjoyable as playing HS. NEVER. This whole drama over ECNL is the result of disconnected parents and club leadership who don't realize they are ruining the essence of the game for the players. MYS leadership should have asked the players what they wanted. I guarantee you that nearly all of them would tell you they would rather keep their coaches regardless of the league they play in. This is why MYS parents are upset. Unfortunately and typical in american culture it's the 1% driving the decisions. How many different leagues do we have to play in before we realize it's not the league that matters. F*ck ECNL. Players have and will continue to get recruited regardless of the "platform" they play in. NCSL, CCL, EDP, USYS NL, NAL, EAL, ECNL, MLSNext, and whatever else they come up with in the future will not (and should not) change the clubs responbiility to it's member to provide the best experiences for their players. How is this merger improving on the experience of the majority it's players. It's not. It's catering the minority and enriching it's staff/leadership - got to pay for LW to have an associate ED to do all her work. Parent's now have to deal with another fee increase to $3200 and pay for new uniforms AGAIN! They just raised fees last year and we are in year one of uniforms. Team fees will be A LOT higher than $500. Bank on that. Who's paying for 2-3 coaches per team plus GK staff to travel to away games and showcases. Parents are. Rosters will be huge to make sure both clubs get players in the team. Good luck with playing time. I feel like I am taking crazy pills. The club lacks core values and this merger is evidence of that.

Same ignorance from the Clubs! HS Soccer IS an experience that most HS Soccer players look forward to. For a club to disregard this and just think of "what gets you into college" is why we have lots of kids quit prematurely!

I have two sons. Sophomore and Senior in HS. What a sh*tshow are HS program is. Nepotism, old boys' club, etc. The level of play is absolutely awful. By Jr/Sr year--most of the players have had serious injuries incurred during HS games or as a result of playing HS and Club simultaneously (Fall HS schedule).

It is kickball extraordinaire. The time suck at our HS is nuts. 5-6 days per week--often arriving at school at 7am and getting home at 10pm depending on where the other HS is located.

Most of the kids recruited at our HS stopped playing HS after sophomore year or never played. With just 1-2 'competitive' games the entire season it's a complete waste of time. Too many of the 'big' sports get all the attention anyways. Nobody cares about soccer at our school.

It's not the glory it used to be to play HS, particularly for boys, because the top players aren't playing it anymore--they are in MLSNext or the academies and prohibited.

The real problem is their DD or DS is not good enough to go anywhere else. So it is a blaming game instead of accepting that your kid is not a strong player to be select on the team.

I don't understand your point. If it doesn't matter what platform you play in. Be positive and come up with a plan B if things don't work out

That talent is either non existent or has been pushed out of the club already by McLean’s finest, The Honorable JA.

If you’re talking about the 2011s, 2 girls left that had talent. The other two left bc they couldn’t get playing time. And now those same parents are probably getting insecure with the same girls coming for their spots now haha!

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and obviously have a personal issue with certain coaches. Are you the Arlington hides in trees dad?

Curious to know if any other teams have dropped/merged in ECNL and if there will be any conference restructuring.

ID session on Sunday following a weekend of 4 tournament matches. Good job Arlington. Smh, OP

Right. I am very pro-HS soccer, but I do have some sympathy for the clubs for the sh!t timing (ID sessions and Jeff. Cup and other spring tournaments and showcases happening just as the HS season is getting started in NOVA). I don't know when else they can hold spring ID sessions that they won't have conflicts.

The denigration of HS soccer, from parents and some club coaches alike, does drive me more than a little batty. Reeks of the "futbol is life" "beautiful game" snobbery that turns so many of us off.

I am firmly in the futbol purist, beautiful game camp…and HS is fine. If you are about the futbol, anywhere, anytime, with anybody.
