Would the victory parade be down King Street? That would make sense. Market Square could host the pre-parade rally with the Alexandria mayor and councilors.
Any parade would be in downtown DC. Do you think the commanders would parade around 495? Teams that play in the suburbs still pretend they play in the city
I do not see the DC Govt helping either VA based team organize a parade in DC in the unlikely event that either wins another championship. What would DC get out of a mere parade?
Exactly. If the Commanders win a super bowl then I expect the victory parade to be along Rt 1 with the pep rally in front of the County Government buildings in Hyattsville. The Md Governor, future Senator Hogan, the PG council, Magic Johnson, etc will all make their speeches from there. Upper Marlboro is just too far away.

Not really an issue for the Wizards and the Caps.
But dream on.
LOL. That's so true.
This is one thing we don't have to worry about for at least 50 years.

Ted will get his $500M for CaptialOne, DC will up security and other investment in the area and perhaps strike some incentives for Ted to get in on some of the RFK land for other parts of his dream.
Not a chance that they will risk the commies choosing National Harbor because they've promised development rights at RFK to Ted
Not all of RFK, just a portion where he could do the hotel and casino.
I would much rather Ted Leonsis donate money and design fees towards a scenic “great park” with lake at the RFK site in exchange for him pretty much taking over Chinatown. Let him build a state-of-the-art stunning sports and media complex worthy of his ego: along the lines of the new Clippers arena in Inglewood and with a casino hotel not unlike Biff Tannen’s casino hotel in Hill Valley. Wave the hight limit as well for the casino hotel which will add a new landmark for the DC skyline. (The mayor had previously but unsuccessfully tried to remove the height limit to spur economic development.)
The Wizards and Caps could play in Baltimore for two seasons while everything is under construction.
I’d also like to see Leonsis sponsor a stunning new boathouse on the Anacostia for all the local high school crew teams that desperately need one.
He would need to buy up land in downtown DC to do that, land that the city doesn't own or control. So how do you achieve that?
eminent domain baby.

Much like the Disney deal back in Haymarket area back in the 90s. The fears of congestion, too many people and traffic and over development. What people couldn't see back then , was it was going to happen with or without Disney. I get it bc I lived here in the 90s and back then we just couldn't see any boon coming to that area. Would Disney have been better than the over building of McMansions? Maybe. Maybe not.
The arena deal is the same way. It's impossible to know what forces will shape the future. In the early 90s we didn't understand the impact of technology or the internet on the DMV area. And there will be something else in the future that we don't know today.
